QUOTE(wongmunkeong @ Aug 9 2011, 04:10 PM) My Equity Funds / Total Equities Held (exREITs & Properties = 73.05% thanks man.. i not sure what is main tikam but i think it is the time to switch to money market now since US's economy is effecting the whole world. until the time is better then i will switch it back to aggressive fund. by the way, switching cost me 0.25% out from my total investment right?Bond Funds / Total Fixed Income Held = 28.9% Erm.. the above doesnt help much IMHO. I think the below would be of better info/use to U The underlying vehicles of mutual funds are generally 1. Stocks (Equity funds) 2. Bonds (Bond funds) 3. Money Market - for storage before buying into them bonds or stocks by the Fund Manager. -------------- Thus, if i may share with U a holistic view: A. BONDS & FIXED INCOME ASSETS Govt Bonds Corporate Bonds Bond Funds EPF FDs /CDs MM B. EQUITY ASSETS (exREITs & exProperties) Stocks exREITs Equity Funds C. PROPERTIES & REITs REITs stocks REIT Funds (er.. this is kind of a new animal in M'sia) Physical Properties D. ALTERNATIVES Gold Silver Platinum Titanium Copper Paintings Antiques Collectibles like cards comics, coins, stamps, etc. -------------- U can see where Mutual Funds sit? It's in A, B and C - depending on the type of fund. Balanced Fund = mix of A & B. Personally i think it's a waste of time UNLESS U just cant be bothered to DIY the Asset Allocation mix, ie. too rich or too busy. Added on August 9, 2011, 4:17 pm Bro, by the name itself, Public AGGRESSIVE Growth Fund, U'd have known that it will move a lot (up & down), right? If U do think the whole world's economy is going to the dogs, then switch to Bond or Money Market fund. It doesnt mean that U have to have an existing bond or MM fund first before switching (unless U've less than $1K value of PAGF i think). Do U need to switch now? Yes! Yes! Yes! oo... waitaminit.. my crystal balls aint working properly.. sorry, wrong indicator U've got a cohesive investment plan (ie. entry & exit methodology) or main tikam? If got, just follow-through, keep tracking and tweaking as needed. If main tikam, your gut feel is as good as any others - no working crystal balls invented yet |

hey guys, i invested RM 5k in PAGF and RM 1k to money market. As for current situation, i lose around RM 600 in the PAGF and gain like few ringgit in the money market. It seems like the economy is unstable and what should i do?
i have switched the PAGF fund to money market due to unstable condition. i have invested in this fund since march 2011. 6 months down the road and it seems like this fund is not doing good most probably of the world economy. What should i do? Hope to hear from your advice. |

QUOTE(kparam77 @ Aug 22 2011, 12:21 PM) UT is for medium to long term. not less than 1 yr. its just 6 months on the road. what u expecitng within 6 months? u shud top up ur PAGF,,sikit by sikit. thanks!! but i noticed that my agent left some of my funds in the PAGF and not tranfer all to the MM. He left around 1k+ unit / RM 800 in the PAGF fund. why he do like that? or maybe the fund cannot less than 1k unit in order to make it run actively?read this ... http://www.btimes.com.my/Current_News/BTIM...utual2/Article/ since u already switch to MM, (not wrong, u hv just safe ur money value), wait for market revocer to switch back to equity. |

QUOTE(kparam77 @ Aug 22 2011, 02:04 PM) i can move all my unit fund to MM? but my agent told me that i need at least 1k units in the PAGF in order to make it active. how come ah? one more thing, my agent told me that switching fee is RM 50 but i get to know that if my fund is over 90 days (3 months), there is no fee for switching right? my agent said for gold member only is free and i am not.
