The purpose, to create a new habitat on the moon for humans with oxygen, plant life, etc... practically recreating the experience here on earth. Not a mini dome here and there but making the whole moon have an atmosphere and self sustaining ecosystem.
Is it possible? Use your imagination and the available technology we have so far..
Terraforming cannot be performed on Moon because of micro gravity that cannot hold back the gas from escaping from Moon. Mars is a better candidate of terraforming into human habitable planet. However, the technical challenge is to increase the oxygen percentage like Earth. Another challenge will be the transportation between Earth and Mars, there will be several year once both planets get nearer to each other in orbit. The purpose, to create a new habitat on the moon for humans with oxygen, plant life, etc... practically recreating the experience here on earth.
