Remember the AP king himself passed away last year in the US. With Malaysia's iron lady gone, I think their power base may not be so strong especially with our old friend (TDM) championing Proton. SD is a Government Linked Company also. I think someone in SD is now more proactive as they even reply personally in their Ford forum.Berjaya must be laughing when they sold Hyundai to Sime Darby. Walk into any Hyundai dealer today and you can see they are quite unhappy. I went to the branch in Jalan 222, it is like their SA are no longer motivated to sell. I went to another branch in SS2 lagi worst, one of the employee was sleeping in the meeting room. Really I am shocked to see this. The thing about buying the I30 is afraid of getting whacked if they have to cut price like the Avante from RM93k to RM83k. |

QUOTE(JoLee @ Feb 2 2010, 11:25 PM) Please consider carefully about the Avante. I was so tempted to buy it but really the engine feels sluggish and the roar is quite obvious. I tested the Avante and I30 1.6 back to back and the I30 has better refinement. However, I find the car sluggish as well but the handling is nicer than the Avante. Between the Forte 1.6sx and I30, again the Forte is better value for money. A hi-spec 2.0 for below 100K is beginning to look like a dream too good to be true.Have you guys got any other alternatives if scenario a happens? Downgrade to 1.6sx from 2.0? Get an I30? Bite the bullet and buy a Ford Focus? I like the mazda 3 like crazy but at RM116k I must be crazy to let the govt tax me somemore. Swallow my pride and wait for the Waja replacement? (For this option I would rather have my tonsils removed) Buy the Perodua Alza and die of embarrassment when Jeremy Clarkson blows it up like the Kelisa? QUOTE(redz3 @ Feb 2 2010, 11:35 PM) Would you pay RM116k for a 1.6 Mazda 3?I think the BS about full CBU from Japan don't stick with me because at the end of the day would the resale value hold? I am not bashing you because I am drooling at the Mazda 3 myself. If they sold the car at RM100k, I dont mind if it is underpowered. That is why we malaysians have gotten it figured out that buying a Civic or an Altis you can never go wrong. They must have done the thought process over and over again. |

QUOTE(redz3 @ Feb 2 2010, 11:16 PM) Add 20K to Mazda3 1.6 (RM113,500) and u get mazda3 2.0 for RM133,900. You'll get different engine, 1 extra gear plus paddle shift, add autoclimate, foldable mirror with signal, 17 inch rims instead of 15, autosensor light and wiper, xenon light instead of HD. Mazda SA???? Add XXk to Forte 1.6SX and you get Forte 2.0SX for RMYYY,YYY. You'll get theta II engine, leather seats, auto cruise, and ? foldable mirror. Currently XX is around 12K. If A scenario ... is XX going up to 20K like mazda3. |

Mazda 3 2.0 was my dream car b4 Forte. It's got everything i want but too pricey and yes 1.6 is not only underpowered but too expensive.
Forte 2.0 is comparable to Mazda 3 in many ways. too bad... sigh~~~ |

Same here .. but for mazda3 2.0 135K, wife said might as well get bigger camry/accord. Well, no point guessing... just hope forte 2.0 holds for less than 95k. Remember that the Peugeot 308 Turbo is also a great buy in this price range.

QUOTE(chunster @ Feb 2 2010, 11:52 PM) Peugeot was my 2nd choice after Mazda 3, great performance car. But I m not young anymore, not looking for performance car anymore.Need a comfort ride. In a few years will have baby, wifey need to sit at the back. 308 back is not really comfortable and suitable for pregnant wifey and baby. Was about to give up and start looking at H City and T Vios. Then luckily saw Forte. Suddenly it became my dream car. Straightaway test drive yesterday and place booking today. Furthermore 308 is 20k more expensive than Forte |

High car prices in malaysia have made general people in this country very very very poor.
For example, if a fresh graduate would have bought a RM80,000 value car (VOS/CT, those juck cars anyway r meant for asean and third world only), he/she would not have much disposable income left for other things (40% of his monthly income would go into the car instalment), therefore most would face the pressure of living life. Don't mention p1p2 here, they r just purely............blood suckers. Imagine if the car prices in this country would be comparable to the USA/ north america (Honda Accord, USD22,000 or RM76,000), we all would enjoy a much better living standard. |

I just worry they claim the issue if anything happen to engine part like FC, noise... nope..... as the K&N filter will be the drop-in type, replacing the original one which is also the drop-in type As per SC advice, we need to follow their service scheduled and parts change! so u can forget changing/replacing the air filter once u start to use the K&N. Just need to clean it every 15k km with their K&N treatment |

let say u r unlucky and ur engine got problem .. do u think they able to find a replacement for u in 1-2 weeks or few months .. frankly speaking i smell something is fishy about the delay .... it might be price is rising or increase surcharge . .. remember booking does not mean u pay the price during booking .. if let say the price rised to another 10k , ur loan will be increased as well ..
