11.00am - Private screening of Evangelion 1.11 (Bluray edition) at Outpost Cafe**
1.00pm - Screening of Evangelion 2.0 at Cathay Cinema
3.00pm - Buffet lunch and activities at Outpost CafeLet's make this a fun affair. Come cosplay as your favourite eva character. Wether it's the volumptous Misato, or even the box Selee <insert number here> Just like last year, before and after the show we will also have discussion about the story, the difference between it and the TV series/manga, and also thoughts of what will happen in 3.0 and 4.0. This discussion/debate will be an open table one, and everyone can use any proof they have to back up their facts. Character developments discussion are the ones we look most forward to. Speaking of which, anyone interested to pre-order the Eva 2.22 DVD/Blu-Ray from Amazon.jp. I'm planning to get it but I want to split the postage cost a bit coz it's a fixed 1900 yen + 300 yen unit cost. It's about 4464 yen for DVD and 4500++ yen for the Blu-Ray.
Works out to about RM 170 per DVD/Blu-Ray, but delivery costs nearly half of that if i buy alone, lol. If get about 5 to 10 people sharing, then the cost is 300 + 1900/n per person, which makes it closer to <RM 200 per copy.

Linkin, i have to bailed out of this one, during the event i was schedule to work on morning shift (9am-6pm) so there's nothing i can do about it. i just know the schedule two days ago and i beg for off-day replacement and it failed. But i might be coming to the after-show. since Mutiara Damansara is on my way back home.
terribly sorry, i miss some huge event due to work.

I tried to search for EVA 2.0 details from Cathay site just now but couldn't find it under showing or coming soon... But I'm sure I saw it yesterday. Has them removed this from their site?

Just watched Evangelion 2.0 at Cathay E@Curve (formerly known as Cineleisure) thanks to the free tickets I got from Sunday's Star newspapers. It really impressed me since I wasn't expecting much considering that Evangelion 1.0 is pretty much a summary of the TV series and wasn't very exciting to me. Evangelion 2.0 headed off in a slightly different direction than the TV series by making Shinji more courageous, Asuka having a more gentle side and Rei being more sociable. A fantastic experience including the unexpected ending where Shinji actually managed to save someone but I will leave the suspense for your own viewing pleasure! |

just watched @ cathay. 'they' (cathay or cencorship board or maybe some chick like the one that sat behind me - she kept saying to her guy "kenapa u bawak i tengok kartun porn?" or maybe SEELE or perhaps NERV) cut some much awaited asuka fanservice scene and some ayanami part too. the final cut is still good. enjoy it guys!
...... and the guy in front of me kept explaining EVERY scene to his friend. its like an automated narration in cantonese. a theater full of otaku is the best way to go.

Agree with Linkin. I believe he organize this gath just to give chance for us to gather, sit and watch the movie with our friends so that we treasure our time together and as a moment to remember.That, actually for me is priceless.I remember when my 1st EVA 1.0 screening with u guys, I heard many crowds shouting and cursing when they(the cinema) cut the scene where Shinji accidently pinned naked Rei.Some more one of my friend throwing the popcorn to screen.But for me that moment I will always remember from time to time because its the most valuable moment I spent with other 80 people who share the same interest as me.
And, please dun compare our Cathay with Singapore one since you all already know that THAT SCENE will definitely undergo cutting due to our country strict policy.If you want to get full version uncut, go download at Toshokan la.

the cut wasnt that obvious as the story/scenes progress as per normal.. its not like they went Seikon Quaser public route anyway all i can say the 2.0 is an alternate univere. its ok if you cant recall how the anime went. as long you remember all the terms |

I watched it at TGV ealier today. Man, the screening (not the movie) sucked. Halfway through, after one battle, the projector kinda titled and HALF OF THE PROJECTION WENT OFF THE FAHKING SCREEN. The sound system is god-awful, too.
Censorship was not bad. Slightly choppy makes the music sound weird, but otherwise, it was alright. Btw, when I went there, only 5 ppl were in the hall, lol. And everyone was about the same size XD

Rei just doesn't seem into Shinji at all. She's doing everything for the sake of Shinji's father only. Besides, is it really Asuka at the ending of the original series + movie? It would seem that she has the same bandages as Rei so I would have thought of her as some reincarnation of Rei + Asuka or something. Shinji became God after all and chose his own new beginning with him as Adam and the combo girl of his choice as Eve. *LOL* Or maybe Anno just wanted to mess with our minds. |

Sorry for not saying anything linkin,but I am still paying for my ticket/s.Just a little something going on.
On that night over on the preview of 2.0,I was there with my goddarn Master Asia shirt,along with some dudes from GACC watching the movie.Suffice to say,when I saw the movie was rated "U",I secretly in my mind golf-clapped the Malaysian Censorship Board.When the movie started its credits,I was somewhat disappointed,that some of the audience were exiting the hall,not knowing that it wasn't the end.Claps were given by the true ending,and all was well for the night.
Is it better than the tv series?From my vague memories,Y.E.S..Go watch it,with or without us.

in my opinion, 2.0 is a better watch than 1.0 overall, since maybe Anno expanded the plot more than the original production. And the flow is better too...

Public Transportation Just go to Kelana Jaya LRT station, Cross the overhead bridge.. Trust me u wont miss it. There should be free shuttles service to Ikano Power Centre which is next to the Curve. Which is usually half an hour interval(e.g 9am,9.30am, 10 am and so on) starting 9am.
