been trying to root my nexus. but after i typed "fastboot-windows devices" and hit enter nothing happen. if i type "fastboot-windows oem unlock" and hit enter, i'll be stuck at <waiting for device> forever.
searched and read few forums and managed to find out that it has something to do with USB drivers. i uninstalled, restarted my pc, reinstalled and tried over n over again, it's still the same.
so i really don't know how to proceed. please advice.
btw, i'm on windows xp. thanks.

QUOTE(benny888 @ Mar 23 2010, 12:03 AM) Readup here to setup your USB drivers : you need to do this first http://theunlockr.com/2009/10/06/how-to-se...ndroid-devices/yup. done that before. driver successfully installed. can see the serial number of my phone at the cmd. still when i try to root.....i'll be stuck forever at the very 1st step itself.... really giving up. spent 12 hours today trying to figure this out but still can't find a solution yet.

QUOTE(shahz @ Mar 23 2010, 01:59 AM) vantuz, switch your phone into fastboot mode. 1. Power off. 2. Press vol down + power 3. In the white menu, wait for a few seconds. Use the vol buttons, scroll to "fastboot" 4. Once fastboot is activated, run that command again. It will write this time. I'm not sure if its "fastboot-windows" coz I'm on mac, but I just use "fastboot <action> <selector> <filename>" eg: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img i'm still stuck at <waiting for device>. i checked all the drivers. should be correct as attached print screen. if confirmed correct, then it's not usb driver prob already. Device Manager: Driver Details: From the SDK: Serial number show up at cmd (unlockr way): Any advice from all the gurus here?? Thanks! This post has been edited by vantuz: Mar 23 2010, 11:00 PM
