I'm trying to order the N1 from the google.com/phone website, and I now see 2 options for the $529 phone.

1. Compatible with AT&T 3G
2. Compatible with T-Mobile 3G.

Which should I pick to ensure compatibility with Maxis 3G???

Thanks,
Jack

Compatible with 3G on AT&T (U.S.) and Rogers Wireless (Canada)
Supports three 3G/UMTS bands (850/1900/2100 MHz) and four GSM radio frequencies (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

Compatible with 3G on T-Mobile (U.S.)
Supports three 3G/UMTS bands (900/AWS/2100 MHz) and four GSM radio frequencies (850/900/1800/1900 MHz)

Sure? Pick the one for AT&T? THe only difference I see is :

AT&T Supports three 3G/UMTS bands (850/1900/2100 MHz)
T-Mobile Supports three 3G/UMTS bands (900/AWS/2100 MHz)

I thought original N1 for sale was for T-Mobile only, so that must be the one that you guys have.. this AT&T looks new..

Let me know soon, wanna order my N1 TODAY =D

Thanks guys!!

chewlf, you're right, i'm using US proxy so I can see both. After reading a few inputs from google N1 forums, seems the right one to get is T-Mobile, but AT&T can also work here.

Malaysia uses UMTS 2100MHz so I'll just get the T-Mobile one.

Thanks!

I'm going to get Nexus One soon too, so I called up Maxis and asked them. They recommend the AT&T one as they currently don't have AWS implemented/installed.

Would I be correct in assuming that the settings for the T-Mobile is on a slightly more advanced than the AT&T? I would prefer to get the T-Mobile one actually, and also as I believe initially Nexus One was offered in T-Mobile's version only. No one in Malaysia seems to have any problem with N1's sold before the 2 options are available right?

I'm still quite indecisive actually. The first time I called Maxis they recommended T-Mobile. The second time, a more thorough talk with the CSE, I got a recommendation for AT&T as it might encounter 3g issues such as browsing, connectivity and such.

Anyone with any thoughts on this? What about sellers here in the forum? What option do you go for?

subpar - Msia uses UMTS 2100MHz for 3G, so technically, both T-Mobile and AT&T should work in Msia. Just that the T-Mobile version (900/AWS/2100 MHz) is more universal and will work in Europe as well. Only AT&T uses sakai frequency..

i use auto sync..Any my usage has never exceeded 250MB so far..The most I ever pushed was 247MB which was the month I really watched a lot of YouTube videos. My sync is on all the time. GMail, GTalk, Twitter app, facebook, contacts, all of these are always on for me. And my battery delivers more than a day to me smile.gif

Not to forget, the screen. I put it at maximum brightness to cherish the screen's resolution. How I get this? You must know how to take care of your battery and there is one core thing that you need to know in protecting this - I will explain it in LDC. I think many people really need to know about this.

Shahz, can you share the link to this battery info on LDC?

Thanks,
Jack

guys, i've bought my N1 thru my bro staying in US now. Should I ask him to open up the box and TEST the N1 first before bringing it back?

- I want to make sure everything is ok, since he's still there and can do warranty return.
- But if he opens it, my "unboxing" ceremony not as shiok la.. haha..

What should I do? I read that some ppl got touchscreen problems out of the box, so I'm afraid of that..

thanks!

i was using the clear type for two days, but then wiping fingerprints got very annoying
so i switched to the matte sp,
it makes the image quality poorer and may seem a little grainy, a small trade-off to me not having to wipe fingerprints/smudges every 5 minutes smile.gif

guys... which brand SP is good? can buy locally from askar perang or are the US brands better?
