Just download the .411 file, install it, and go through the same process to delete vendor.xml file.

Then click on apploader.exe to upgrade.

As long as it's for the Bold 9700, it should be compatible.

But remember to delete vendor.xml unless the firmware is an official release by Maxis (for Maxis sets) and Celcom (for Celcom sets).

I am wondering how to backup our current OS be4 even flashing our BB?

I might want my older OS just in case the new 1 give me troubles.

Anyway, i found out that digi has their own OS upgrades which i am not wrong is 5.0.6xx. Currently downloading it and will try tomorrow if i am able to backup my current OS.

Please advice.

You can try downloading .442 and flash it.

But what's stopping me is I noticed it doesn't have East Asian language support.

I'd stick with .344 until I find another firmware with Chinese language support.

I'm not sure how to backup current firmware, but you can download it again from BlackBerry's support site.

Hmm... DiGi's latest firmware is .400.

I will flash and see if there's any changes.

Anyway to check a firmware is to see the Applications section, ie. 5.0.0.400, and not the Package Version, ie. v5.0.0.633.

Next step is to initiate AppLoader.exe, and follow the on-screen instructions.

Why would you want to flash back to T-Mobile's OS?

To those who wants to upgrade their OS and using Vista and above please delete ur vendor.xml folder too in

C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\VirtualStore

"username" is ur own computer user account

once in that folder search for Research In Motion folder n delete the vendor.xml there

its actually a backup made my windows security feature
thats why even u hv deleted the one in program files folder u still cant update the OS cos windows will still check from Virtualstore folder

you need to delete these two location then you should be able to upgrade the OS

hope this helps smile.gif

You can download the original OS from BlackBerry's support site.

If you want to restore T-Mobile's settings, just don't delete the vendor.xml file before flashing. smile.gif
