Depends on how you see it. In my opinion, koto kits, especially for their armored core & HMM zoids line, have good part separation. Lots of tiny parts and runners. It takes some time, so be patient and one will be very happy with the end results. [ I took a week or so to finish it and i spend 2 - 3 hours on it.]

It takes much more time to assemble as compared to assembling a MG gunpla. Like I mentioned in the final review, one might need to glue some parts as some parts are abit loose or might pop out if you play with it too much, and the koto counterpart also have problems like this, so it's not an issue to me.

So far, the zoids line is doing fine. As for other koto stuff...so far there are 2 kits which I have that have missing parts.

I started zoids again as I wanted some variety in my collection.

they remold the whole scale..to smaller...1/108

so does this classify as pirated? as they remold everything..

I think the cheap one was the Tortoise looking ones.

Anyway here my Zoids 



Was trying out HMM just to see how different from gunpla and the first thing i notice after i completed it was it abit floppy or joints don't feel strong and some parts are only connected with friction which sometimes annoy me and just glue them up. But i do like the piping detail and painted pilot which i don't see in gunpla.  Thinking to get the Panzer Zero to add to this collection. 

It is a wonder that no new Zoids games have been announced. Maybe because the marketing is concentrated on fans in Japan fans instead? I don't think Kotobukiya Zoids were even marked for international release but thanks to dealers with contacts in Japan, we can enjoy them here.

If you like detailed bits on your Zoids, Kotobukiya is the way to go.
For instance, HMM Ligers and Sabers have more (sharper) teeth than TakaraTomy's and where the HMM Sabre has individual toes, TTs are one piece.

I wasn't around when KL-ites had carnivals of cheap sales on Zoids around 2007 but the motorised Zoids (NJR period, 1998-2008) were much cheaper than Kotobukiya's when released e.g. TOMY Pteras was 600 Yen (about RM20 then?) compared to 4500 Yen for the HMM. Why? Not too sure. Maybe because plastic prices went up 300% since then.

Sorry but I can't help feeling bitter about the lack of love for motorised Zoids at TakaraTomy now. Come on with the Megatopros and Sandspeeda reissue, dang it!
