QUOTE(cycheah @ May 7 2012, 05:18 PM) I think the cheap one was the Tortoise looking ones. Anyway here my Zoids ![]() Was trying out HMM just to see how different from gunpla and the first thing i notice after i completed it was it abit floppy or joints don't feel strong and some parts are only connected with friction which sometimes annoy me and just glue them up. But i do like the piping detail and painted pilot which i don't see in gunpla. Thinking to get the Panzer Zero to add to this collection. |

Agree bro, Koto kits sucks if u compare it with Bandai but the level of details and prepainted parts r somewhat superior than Bandai's Anyway here my Zoids » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Was trying out HMM just to see how different from gunpla and the first thing i notice after i completed it was it abit floppy or joints don't feel strong and some parts are only connected with friction which sometimes annoy me and just glue them up. If they do I'm definitely gonna get one! It's great to see many new names here. For Kotobukiya Zoids lovers, the future does look bright - so many new models are coming out, its making my wallet shiver...with dread! If it comes into the retail stores here, I would definitely be getting the Shadowfox. The motorised versions' price is currently crazy bad. It should be out in August, maybe. ![]() Earlier release is the HMM Berserk Fuhrer. It's kinda cute seeing it like this. ![]() How is the Harry Special Dark Horn kit? How many of the hyperbeam cannon does it have? |

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Holy shit, looks awesome. What's the difference motorized version? Is it like...really motorized? As in it moves? o.O Sorry kinda new to Zoids kits, not very familiar with the terms yet. I hope they retain the color scheme of Black/Gold for Shadowfox though.. |

I dunno if i'm explaining it correctly, but the motorized are from Tomy, where the zoids have gears n motor which moves the zoid, but when static they cant do much posing, almost like bricksI hope they retain the color scheme of Black/Gold for Shadowfox though.. HMMs are from Kotobukiya, they are standard model kits, they can do more dynamic poses and have more gimmicks, but the downside is the solidness of the kit is compromised |

You're right there, General_Nic.
Zoids originally came out as spring-wound or battery-powered motors around which you would add parts. A moving (sometimes growling/screaming) model kit. The moving Zoids are TOMY and TAKARA-TOMY designed. It is my hope that these will return to our store shelves once again but generally since they're not poseable as Kotobukiya's, some Zoids fans may not like them. I, however, DEMAND TAKARA-TOMY to continue with the motorised versions. Bring back the OERs and OJRs and expand on them, please! Anyway, enough ranting. Found these vids of a (repainted) Shadowfox. Video quality is bad but it's difficult to find one of the model in action. Enjoy! Shadowfox with cannon? Head movement Anyone needs another of the white "test-shot" Deathsaurer parts? Lucky, lucky you - test-shot Deathsaurer Be adviced that there's no motor, ok? This post has been edited by riderTEKRAN: May 12 2012, 12:15 PM |

Hmm, are there any difference between the detailing for the Takara-TOMY set and Koto sets? Anyhow I assume since the motorized ones come with some kind of engine, they're probably truckloads more expensive compared to Koto kits right??
Right now I'm wishing they'd release some new Zoids games for the consoles..PSP, DS, PS3..so quiet lately. Even a new anime/OVA will do ;____; |

It is a wonder that no new Zoids games have been announced. Maybe because the marketing is concentrated on fans in Japan fans instead? I don't think Kotobukiya Zoids were even marked for international release but thanks to dealers with contacts in Japan, we can enjoy them here.
If you like detailed bits on your Zoids, Kotobukiya is the way to go. For instance, HMM Ligers and Sabers have more (sharper) teeth than TakaraTomy's and where the HMM Sabre has individual toes, TTs are one piece. I wasn't around when KL-ites had carnivals of cheap sales on Zoids around 2007 but the motorised Zoids (NJR period, 1998-2008) were much cheaper than Kotobukiya's when released e.g. TOMY Pteras was 600 Yen (about RM20 then?) compared to 4500 Yen for the HMM. Why? Not too sure. Maybe because plastic prices went up 300% since then. Sorry but I can't help feeling bitter about the lack of love for motorised Zoids at TakaraTomy now. Come on with the Megatopros and Sandspeeda reissue, dang it! This post has been edited by riderTEKRAN: May 13 2012, 12:11 AM |

If the marketing is concentrated on fans in Japan..should have Japanese games..but the last one was like a couple years back for the DS. I don't count their appearance in Super Robot Taisen as an actual game, so yeah.If you like detailed bits on your Zoids, Kotobukiya is the way to go. Also the last anime they released was Zoids Genesis, which had some pretty awesome but weird looking Zoids. |

Hey there, owika. Kotobukiya is supposed to be reissuing the HMM EZ-016 Saber Tiger Schwalz by end of this month, May 2012. If I read correctly, some changes from the first release is the teeth and toe colours, as well as changes to the sticker sheets. I hope you know Japanese - because I would really like to know *exactly* what the differences are? source: http://main.kotobukiya.co.jp/pk_zoids_saber_sp/ Maybe we'll see these in KL stores next month? |

A translato-guess from sir Spartan of ZP: The reissued HMM Schwalz Tiger will have "decals instead of stickers". Waterslide? Dry transfer? I don't know how to use either of them so tough luck for me, I guess. In other unsubstantiated, panic inducing RUMOURs - TOMYTEC is doing a new Zoids line starting (maybe) in January 2013! Anyone here knows more about what TOMYTEC produces? Can it be that motorised Zoids are coming back to "Spend-your-money-here" land? Thanks to our ZP friends for the find, especially SyncSaix. ![]() source URLs: http://sorega801.blog133.fc2.com/blog-entry-2942.html http://figsoku.blog39.fc2.com/blog-entry-2228.html http://zoidsocean.blog26.fc2.com/blog-entry-3359.html |
