I bought five megadrive cartridges from ebay, all totaling to more than RM600....that should give you a picture how expensive it is. I'm very confident if I want to re-sell them in lowyat, it would not be more than RM20 each.

correct, malaysian just want cheap...
most of us dont care how RARE for the item!

Or even compare price between pirated and originals and think they are both the same anyway so why have to pay more? But instead of getting the pirated they want the originals to drop in price laugh.gif

Interesting. Those I've seen have pretty convincing boxes, which iirc even have the Sega logo.

Look carefully.

The print quality on the boxes look very cheap just like the ones on those fake Memory Stick Pro Duos.

Also, I had a chance to test one out and apparently some of the models have BUILT-IN GAMES.

That should set off some sort of alarm bells....

Ahh no wonder the total came up to over RM600. Bare Knuckle 2 and 3 are priced quite high even as used cartridges.

Maybe because the Japanese Bare Knuckle did not censor the characters....

Nice to know some Mega Drive loving is in place.

Post the pics up over at Golden Oldies!

Wow, that bad?

They are really out to get at collectors now, huh?

I was hoping it was someone found a stash of unsold Megadrives in a warehouse somewhere.

Ah well. I should probably be thankful that my "Super Creation" is still working, although I still want to get a real Megadrive someday.

LOL, GamersFamilia is pulling your leg.....

Seriously, if you really want to buy a retro console, the best and safest would be to buy from a Japanese ebay seller that speaks and writes decent English and sends to Malaysia via EMS.

That is how I managed to buy my Dreamcast and Hyakushiki PS2.

Working Mega Drives and PS1s are still abundant in Japan....

Ok, thanks for the advice. I already managed to get a replacement PSOne tho. Some guy selling surplus units from UK. Everything new in box and still in wrapping. Problem is, it's the PAL version, so I'll need to work on that tongue.gif Will take your advice for the MegaDrive tho.

eBay Japan seems to be just a portal to other eBay tho, and my experience shows that no one on Yahoo Auctions Japan will ship out of Japan.

Actually the regular ebay.com has a few retro game sellers from Japan that do ship to Malaysia.

Try these guys:

Hit-Japan

PaletWeb

Yamatoku

I have bought tons of retro items from each of them.

eBay is the most likely place you will find any of those consoles. But it'll definitely cost a lot.

Yeah, I'm aware. US$335 for NIB first-gen PS1. Luckily my NIB PSOne slim only cost me some 39.90 pound - some RM 240, half the price of my PSOne slim when I first bought it.

I own an SNES with Street Fighter 2, Secret of Mana, Mortal Kombat, Star Fox (I think - gotta recheck). It also has a Wildcard disk system that utilizes mini floppy disk to store games.

Interested?
