 how to clean dust on mobo, without damaging anything on it

you can see white dust all over the mobo

my question is, how to clean the dust on mobo using the safest way? i tried to vacuum but still some leftovers that still persistent. should i just wipe it? im afraid of that electrostatic thingy. i heard of compressed aircan. will it work?

i wanna make my mobo as shiny as new biggrin.gif !! help!! icon_question.gif

oh yeah n also cleaning thermal paste. can i use alcohol? coz some people said that it's not recommended. well, i dunno about that. can give advise?

paint brush would'nt spark electrostatic problem?

Malaysia weather is moist .. should be ok geh ... but in aircond room easy got static problem ... careful.

Hmm theoretically it may cause spark, but then plenty of people use paintbrush to clean their casing. Even for me too. So far no problem. But nowadays people like to use the new method of cleaning and that is using a blower which is superbly effective tongue.gif .


About the termal phase, i just used tissue paper. Why need alcohol? its not that hard to remove it

I use an air duster, Ambersil Air Duster. You can get them at ACE Hardware. Not cheap though...

Go to Ace Hardware, ask for Air Can, it is compressed air can. I'm using it to clean the dust

This is what I'm talking about and as bryanyeo also mention.

Now they cost like RM50>. A year ago they only cost RM40. These things are actually supposed to be very cheap...
