ok..just my personal opinion..if you have the fuse on the output current, i believe easy to detect if your device over supply. we don't have to find and change the fuses on the fuse box.
meaning to say, you limiting the number of possibility to troubleshoot if problem surface.
just my 2 cents :-)
btw, you really had a great item here. 96k uF..that's big.. :-)

The VS is not powered by itself and so it will not over supply current beyond the alternator's capability. Meaning if you connect a 3V power to my VS, my VS will keep supplying 3V only, and it will not supply 4 or 5 V or 12V. Car's alternator is 14.4V when working with the VS, the VS will only supply max of 14.4V, it doesn't have a capability to go beyond.

Fuses exist in many parts of car with the purpose to protect important circuit, however i decided not to put a fuse on the VS which is due to performance reason. Furthermore VS is just like a battery which has + and - terminals, the battery is much more higher current comparing to a VS and yet it doesn't have a fuse build in the battery also, so my VS doesn't need that too.

If you have too much worry about that, you can put a big audio fuse on the positive line, and that turns out a very high ampere of current flow only the fuse will burn, this would be an un-burnable fuse.

zaptor has lower uf and thus lower price, it's all depending on whether you want performance or low cost ?
