QUOTE(dannywonglh @ Sep 5 2010, 08:12 PM) Hopefully iPhone 4 will be available before 30 Sept so that we can still enjoy the free bumper... No offense but you really are buying things based on people's choice and hype aren't you? Instead of what you really need.

This is great cause Contract Upgrade is available for existing customers with contract running but the downside is that your contract will be quite somewhat dragging and long.

Let's put a scenario: If I were to buy iPhone 4/16GB and with iValue 1 for 24 months. I'll have to pay for the pre-payment monthly fee of RM400 and RM1390 for the phone. Also, I have existing Android phone deal with Maxis which I still have 9 months of contract period left. Total, RM1790 and 32 months of contract right?
What about the first 5 months, I still have to pay my bills right and which the pre-payment will be credited equally according to my usage?

QUOTE(mrhenree @ Sep 20 2010, 10:41 PM) Im not sure how much you need to pay for the android plan. But my gf have the almost same scenario with you. She booked the phone with 24 months contract i value1, looking at she still has around 14 months with her current contract. So, now she will be tied with 36 months, where in the next 5 months, she need to pay RM100 (monthly commitment) - 80 (prepayment of 400 credit back to first 5 months) = RM20. Just my own calculation. So which means Contract Upgrade is just adding your remaining months on previous contract plus with your new iPhone's contract. Who knows there might be some charges but hopefully not.

Well, about the Contract Upgrade. It's only for iPhone postpaid customers who are still currently on contract plan, the rest phone deals are not eligible. Yes, you can buy it outright, I've spoken with Maxis customer service over the line and in person.

The representative gave 2 options which you either buy outright or apply a new line, reconfirm in person and yes you can buy outright if you're existing Maxis customer. Only available 27th of September onwards.

QUOTE(Freshie @ Sep 21 2010, 03:08 PM) Maybe its a repetitive question...When u said buying outright, do u mean the average maxis customer or only those whom have purchased iphone or blackberry contracts previously can do that? I've mentioned, only current running postpaid customers with an iPhone plan that are eligible. The rest phone deals, no. You have to be a Maxis subscriber in order to buy it outright.
