QUOTE(Suk @ Mar 3 2010, 03:21 AM) I really dont know how the installer check ? and what guideline to determine the line is not support 4mb without testing it.. it's happened to my 2 frds. the installer just called them and telling them no 4mb. Base on, ADSL2+ availability ? SNR margin ? Port available ? > 3 KM to exchange ? because most happen to my frd. the installer did not turn up and just call them by telling them 4mb no support in their area.. r they really tested with ADSL2+ port for the 4mb user home first of all. As what I know. The installer will come to your hse first to check SNR Margin from the modem. then If the margin ok.. then they will carry on. if the margin low and the house owner is ADSL1 port how ? do your friend is giving option to cancel the application after they called to notify that the line can't support 4mbps?

QUOTE(jammie @ Mar 4 2010, 03:10 PM) bro, i just back from TM point too.. everything is same as the conclusion~ r u get the same? as rm75 for homeline deposit rm50 for wiring then, in the 1st month hv to pay 2 months' rate~ 100+100 = 200 after tat 50% offer means only RM100 for 1st month~ this is the info i get.. but quite blur with the 1st n 2nd month rate how bout yours? Assuming you are applying TM Unipack 4mbps new account (not upgrading from previous streamyx account): for 1st bill: RM10 for duty stamp RM50 for 1st month (50%) RM100 for 2nd month (like a deposit) 2nd bill onwards: RM100 If you apply new homeline: 1st bill: RM10 for duty stamp RM75 for homeline fee 2nd bill: RM50 for 1st month (50%) RM100 for 2nd month 3rd bill onwards: RM100 Hope this helps you. TM don't put everything in 1st bill because this package is for student. They know student doesn't want to spend so much money in 1 shot. This post has been edited by mfa333: Mar 4 2010, 04:19 PM

QUOTE(LYR @ Mar 4 2010, 05:18 PM) well, it should be: If you apply new homeline: 1st bill: RM10 for duty stamp RM75 for deposit RM50 connection fees *RM50 connection fee is waived when you are applying new homeline during subscribing unipack as stated in the brochure*the 4KM thingy RM20-RM30 *depends on your house location. needed to pay IF your home and the telephone hub is over 4KM*wiring RM30-RM50 (pay to the contractor on the spot) *not in the bill, pay direct to installer*
for coolUniPack 4Mbps: Bill will only be mailed to you on 2nd month. 1st bill (2nd month) RM50 1st month 50% subscription fees RM100 2nd month 2nd bill (3rd month) onwards RM100 these are the charges according to my streamyx bill. You already received 2nd bill? I assume you are not on unipack package? This post has been edited by mfa333: Mar 4 2010, 08:23 PM

QUOTE(eichi-sama @ Mar 5 2010, 03:13 PM) How come when I ask at tmpoint, they said they charge rm 135 for new tm homeline and when I show her the brochure she replied "It's our procedure". Wut? RM135 is RM75 for activation fee, RM50 for installation fee and another rm10 is maybe for duty stamp(i'm not sure). For unipack package, that RM50 is waived. Different CS tell different stories maybe because they are not well-informed. Unipack is a rush promotion by TM after PM presented Belanjawan 2010 end of last year. QUOTE(reevephon @ Mar 5 2010, 07:25 PM) Same as mine, today went to Muzium TM Point that located @ Jalan Raja Chulan, the staff checked for me and said my area is not supported for 4mbps, then no choice, straight away register a new TM HomeLine + Streamyx CoolUniPack 1mbps because I want to own the netbook, but today the staff requested me to pay RM85 on the spot, may I know what fee was that? I'm too rushed today, so forgot to ask. Can some one explain to me about my 1st bill and 2nd bill need to pay how much? PS: I'm taking Streamyx 1mbps at my house since 3 years ago, and I can get 1.7mbps in speedtest.net and Tm Speedometer, so can I get back the same connection speed as my current 1mbps streamyx package? check previous page for 1st and 2nd bill.

QUOTE(amir89 @ Mar 5 2010, 07:53 PM) Can i know what's the easiest way to register other than to go to TMpoint? wait till TM come to your university.. That's the easiest way to apply Unipack.. Only need to fill in the form, then they will photostat your IC and matrix card, and then they will settled everything for you.. even 3rd and final year can apply.. QUOTE(reevephon @ Mar 5 2010, 08:16 PM) From what you've declared above, I still have one doubt here, if I already paid the RM85 during registration @ TM Point(Applying new homeLine and UniPack), should I pay the RM10 for duty stamp RM75 for homeline fee again in the 1st bill? Oh, you've paid rm85 on the spot.. so your 1st bill will be RM150 (assuming no prorated charges).. 2nd bill RM100.. This post has been edited by mfa333: Mar 5 2010, 08:52 PM

QUOTE(reevephon @ Mar 5 2010, 11:00 PM) OK, mean now my upcoming bills only pay for monthly fee for Cool UniPack but no other extra charge? Workmanship pay on the spot to the TM staff when they come to my house setting up streamyx or phone line? Btw, I'm only applied 1mbps which is RM80 per month, because my area doesn't support 4mbps  Added on March 5, 2010, 11:02 pmNo, just need to pay your call charge. yup.. only pay according to your unipack package price for the streamyx, homeline and the netbook.. for workmanship, pay to the contractor. owh.. too bad.. price for both package only differ rm20.. don't worry, you can still opted to HSBB when your area is supported. minimum 10mbps speed... Already a week since i've submitted my form.. Still no news from them. Wanted to call 100 but calling from celcom line very very expensive (i'm at hostel currently).
Is there any way to check my status online without requiring the homeline number (i've applied for new homeline too)?

For user who already installed streamyx and new homeline:
how much do you pay during the installation of new homeline? RM30 or with other extra charges?

QUOTE(ysc @ Mar 12 2010, 09:44 PM) but i dont wanna suffer any internet downtime... cant i just tell the technician that i (as the owner) give permission to disable the original line? You can try to ask the technician to connect the new number to existing wiring, after that go to tmpoint to terminate old number. but you will still suffer internet downtime as usually it will takes 1-5 days to activate the adsl signal to the new number.

QUOTE(ccy1989 @ Mar 16 2010, 06:15 PM) Did anyone try to subscribe 1st month ...then terminate it on the 2nd month after receiving the netbook by paying the penalty RM600 ? p's: btw i already double confirm with tm saying that u just nid to pay RM600 for the penalty behalf of the termination without the need to pay the remaining subscription period. This package is introduced to help students especially who came from low-income family that can't afford to buy laptop. So, please don't abuse it. Think about other people rather than being selfish getting the netbook for profit-based not for education purpose.

TM careline (100) can't track our application flow.. I think there's special department that handles unipack package.
