Here`s the thing about MODL & SOL issue.
When the list was out a year or 2 ago, many student jump in the bandwagon of getting PR in Australia via studying in Australia.
The timeline well said, created a influx of student from India & Sri Lanka,China just for such course & the mushroom of Private Colleges without proper facilities around.
I believe those applying in Msia do aware of this.

Also, there is also skills & people who converse English well & cant get PR compared to those not well but just meet the requirement.

But the changes is right. Professional`s are needed so does some skilled people.
Australia still need doctor, nurses, engineer & teacher; not the irrelevant hairdresser or cook.
Next in line; Accounting might be limited too.

It`s more of demand like intake than supply driven need.
so yes, the need of dust to settle then you can see how the situation is.

i am having a hard time understanding this rclxub.gif .........eh.....so long in oz, still having problems with simple english sentence structures?............

thx everyone for your reply
it does help me a lot  smile.gif

another thing, I read from http://www.studyadelaide.com/content.aspx?p=83
is this information still valid? does this mean we'll get a new visa after 3 months?
*
you obviously failed to understand what that means.........if your course is longer that 3 months (your visa will always be for the entire duration of your course, plus a few months at the end for you to tidy up loose ends before you leave), your visa will automatically entitle you to do part time work up to 20hrs/week during semester time and unlimited during vacation break..........if your course of study is shorter than 3 months, then you are not entitled to work.........

before 2007, you need to apply for a separate work visa, this was changed to automatic work visa in 2007...........

He left oz without leaving a cent in the bank.
Well, perhaps I am wrong, but usually when you study a 3 years degree, you will get 1 year visa only right? And you need to renew every year? Or I am wrong?
You said it depends on which 3 shop I go, so I think it depends on which vodafone shop I go as well?  icon_idea.gif Gotta ask as soon as possible, how about you? You get an Iphone for 24 months contract?

Blacklisted in the country?  sweat.gif  sweat.gif Looks like very serious...anyone can confirm this?
*
read the 1st page lah..........

you will be given a student visa for the whole duration of your course lah......

I'm new to this topic. can anyone let me know how is the discrimination there against Asian? bad?
*
there isn't any official discrimination, unlike msia.....

there are LOTS of asians in all the major cities........

it is one of the most egalitarian country in the world.......

you may sometimes find rednecks hurling verbal abuse at you, but that is RARE........

keep out of trouble, out of some rough neighbourhods, and do not flaunt you wealth openly, and you will be fine........

better time your renewal when you are back in msia.........it is VERY troublesome to do it there, you need to go to the hc in canberra, and it can take up to 6 months, which means you cannot travel during that period........

rm2500 = aud800.........a bit difficult to live with that, unless you don't mind dumps to crash in, and cook youself every meal..........alternatively, if you can cope with your stidies, do some part time work, even just 10hrs/week doing supermarket checkout will bring you aud500+ extra a month, after tax......then you can live more confortably.....

yes.so ppl who say study at australia is cheaper than UK but actually almost the same
*
that depends on the exchange rate.....at the moment, with the aud at 3 and gbp at below 5, it is cheaper in uk, especially for some courses where it is shorter, eg engineering and laws, 3 years compared to 4 in oz........but when gbp was 7 at one point, it would have been significantly more than oz........

Hi, I just completed my Diploma in E-Commerce & Marketing from TARC.
so that I will be taking the advance diploma as well
I had settle those registration and rental deposits things.
But now my parent want me to study at Univerisity of South Australia (UniSA), Adelaide with my brother who already been there for almost half year.
I'm in dilemma, I do not know whether to study there or stay here.
If i ask my brother he would definitely saying that Adelaide is good, So i would like to ask for more opinion here.

Sorry for my bad English.
Thanks.
