HDMI cable are classified based on its speed capability, lower speed cat 1 , and higher speed cat 2

for short cable run any brand can do fine, for longer run you may need a better constructed cable, those insanely expensive cables are not necessary better constructed.

HDMI is based on TDMS signalling, cable need to be properly constructed to eliminate problems arised from high speed communication through copper wire

And if you didn't understand all that tech speak, it basically comes down to this: If any of the bits is dropped or mangled, you get HDMI sprites - where the video is filled with digital noise - or you get no video.

So if you got video and no sprites, the HDMI cable works and no expensive cable is going to make it better.

what people need to know is that properly constructed cable doesn't mean have to buy branded or expensive type.. china ones that come with the media player/BD player will be fine..

You guys are silly doh.gif . Till now still don't know the function of Digital Cable.

If you use different quality USB cable to transfer pictures from your external Hard Drive to your PC, do you think the pictures will look sharper , more vibrant and enhanced if using better quality cable or not ? biggrin.gif

Haha , don't take it the wrong way. I use the term silly on myself all the time biggrin.gif

Anyway Digital cable as long as can transfer data without loss or errors, will get the same data whether it's RM10,000/- cable or RM10/- cable.

apparently we find out, HDMI does have error problems.. but the error is in the manner of digital artifacts on the output video like purple video or sparklies , very abrubt stuffs, not subtle issues like less bright or less colorful videos.. biggrin.gif
