How many units sold now? All sold out or not? What about Icon City at Motorola?

Added on May 31, 2012, 1:05 amKUCHING: Malaysia’s highly acclaimed property developer, Mah Sing Group Bhd’s (Mah Sing) Icon Residence Mont Kiara project was named both Best High Rise Architecture Malaysia (5 star) and Best High Rise Architecture Asia Pacific at the Asia Pacific Property Awards.
These accolades meant that the project would go on to represent the region on the world level, competing against other high scoring companies from Europe, Africa, the US and Arabia.
The ultimate World’s Best in each category will be unveiled when the final results are revealed in London at the end of the year.
In a press release statement issued by Mah Sing, it stated for the sixth consecutive years, the group has won awards from Asia Pacific and International Property Awards. Besides the national and regional awards received for Icon Residence Mont’ Kiara, Mah Sing’s flagship Icon City Petaling Jaya had also won two awards, namely Best Office Development Malaysia (Highly Commended) and Best Commercial Redevelopment Malaysia (5-Star).
Mah Sing’s group managing director, Tan Sri Datuk Sri Leong Hoy Kum said, ”This is the third time for Mah Sing to be awarded as a regional level and being able to represent Malaysia and the Asia Pacific region on the global stage.
“This reaffirms our status as a premier lifestyle developer. We hope to replicate our success and cement the position of Malaysia developers on the world stage.”
The judging criteria for these awards were carried out through a meticulous process involving a panel of over 60 experts in every aspects of the property business.
The next stage of the awards’ programme is for top scoring five-star winners of each category to be re-judged against those from the other regions to determine the ultimate World’s Best winners.
International Property Awards president, Stuart Shield said that Asia Pacific always put up a very strong representation across the many different categories within the awards’ programme, adding that they consistently proved to be the hardest region to beat when it comes to competing internationally for the highly coveted World’s Best awards.

I understand that the china company pulled out already....but I do have a question re this barter.

It means the china company will build the whole project in exchange for 96 units priced at 1200 psf. I get that.

In order to get cash, the china company would need to sell it at higher than 1200 psf to make a profit, am I right?

If MS still have unsold units at 1000 psf, when will the chinaman be able to sell his marked up units?

5 years?
