Come on.... We have a full section dedicated to iPhone "blabering" already.
A tablet is a computer, not a phone. Unless Apple planning to change that "again". That is until it's announced. So let's not turn this thread into junk post. Or another fighting post. Back to topic... I'm waiting for such product since the day I own my very first PowerBook. So yea, I would be the guy that might pre-order it, LOL. Call me crazy or what. But looking at the reading I gather so far, Apple might going to launch it with some smashing services like AppStore to pull in more $ than selling hardware alone. Imagine if Adobe could push out Photoshop Lite for free test. And the Photoshop paid version that will allow you to add in plug-in or feature along the way just like some games in Appstore... Well that might solve alot issue with conventional way of selling desktop app. We might even able to customize a single app to cater to our personal needs. Let say I won't need extra filters or effects, I will just keep the basic app. |

At lease iTab wasn't replaced, hahaha.
I need a larger screen for most of my iPhone apps. My reason to get an iPad. |

I hardly use the iSight. But on the phone it's handy cause the size of the phone and the phone is always with me.
But on the iPad I don't think it's practical, imagine holding a huge pad while trying to photograph something. Neither I'm a fan of video chat. Having it is a plus, but I won't dig around for complaint just because it doesn't have one. |

I'm using VNC, Remote Desktop to minitor my own & client's OSX server.
iPhone screen estate is just too small for such task. iPad will save my day. You don't want to use a 15" MBP inside toilet or in mamak. Which at the moment I have to. I'm also using iBank. Hopefully they will update a version for iPad for near Mac version functions. Which I will then can do my finance on the go. Then again, I find it on the iPhone too small, can't even monitor my 1 week statements on single page. I will also plan to have a digital invoice/DO/paperworks on my iPad, client just have to sign them on my iPad This post has been edited by wei: Feb 2 2010, 02:08 AM |

QUOTE(azxel @ Mar 18 2010, 11:25 AM) Actually with most of Apple products made in this region, it make sense to have a worldwide launch and release of their products but I guess the factories can't cope to produce that many units... Those days, some Apple products are assembled in Singapore, right? How about these days... still the same? It's been a while I seen any Apple stuff produced/manufactured/assembled outside China. |

QUOTE(rx330 @ Mar 22 2010, 04:17 PM) hi guys, its been sometime since i posted here No if Apple not releasing a unique version of the iPad with larger SIM tray.got an inquiry abt the ipad 3G version, would our sim card fit in? any idea? No if local telco do not support Micro SIM (at the moment still no). Maybe, if you willing to risk cutting your current SIM into the size that fit into iPad tray. In the end, still have to wait till the 3G version out and someone tested it. |

I puzzled too. Maybe Apple trying to push it so they can save lot more space on next gen iPhone?
All iPhone so far uses standard full-size SIM. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micro-SIM |

QUOTE(azxel @ Mar 23 2010, 12:51 PM) Hmm... What App does Apple have for the Mac as well as the iPod/iPhone to enable us to read Comics (like PC's cbr - Comic Book Reader, etc) ? For you moo-ni-ness comics needs: http://www.tuaw.com/2010/03/25/comic-zeal-...ipad-previewed/I don't think it will free and open like PC. Most likely it will be in subscription or store based where you have to pay. Some might be free. Maybe iComic store is coming on iPad 4.0? lol. |

LOL I'm gonna see how many of the hater later turn hate to love when more and more excellent Apps being released.
I scrap the plan to get the US version. Reason being the App that I need wasn't that mature yet. So, by the time we get it here, iPad specific Apps should be plenty. |

Ok... I've dig around and found info on US iPad warranty.
I understand many have been pointing toward this policy: http://images.apple.com/legal/warranty/doc...arranty_v20.pdf Under this phrase: "Apple may restrict service to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the hardware product". It clearly stated MAY. Which is subjective. It's not a MUST. Then further down: "If you seek service in a country that is not the country of original purchase, you will comply with all applicable import and export laws and regulations and be responsible for all custom duties, V.A.T. and other associated taxes and charges. Where international service is available, Apple may repair or exchange defective products and parts with comparable products and parts that comply with local standards." Which definitely sounds like we could actually get support outside US. Then you check this: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?m...49417 Last post. I need to know who and where is the proof stating "No International Warranty for iPad" came from. Is that just an assumption or there're some official statement that I missed. QUOTE(Eithanius @ Apr 15 2010, 02:40 AM) The question here is, how would you define international...? read again. It says they MAY restrict it to where you bought it. Which means it MAY NOT also. And they never put in word about sending back to country of origin. From what Apple's stated as you've quoted, Apple may provide support services providing if and when such devices that are purchased from the country of origin is sent back to that country, in this case, only in the States. QUOTE(Eithanius @ Apr 15 2010, 02:40 AM) So you cannot send it into Apple Stores in Australia for example, nor any other stores or resellers in any other countries except US. your statement is just your assumption or you've spoken to Apple Support?QUOTE(Eithanius @ Apr 15 2010, 02:40 AM) So are we defining International as it revolves Apple worldwide, or are we defining as in iPad consumers worldwide...? I hope you are not plain assuming here. iPhone is a different story due to telco locking & profit sharing. Repair claim are channelled differently bypassing usual service route. iPad on other hand is more like iPod.Like the iPhone, I believe iPad will most likely suffers the same fate with the impending 3G model sometime later this month. Of where you purchase the iPad, that's where you're gonna send it back for service.... |
