But all we know now is that a new update for the iPhone OS is on the way and should support multitasking. That should coincide with the upcoming new iPhone. Lets just hope that iPAD will be included too.

Remember iPhone OS updates were free for recent iPhones but chargeable for iPod Touches? Engadget reported the same game rules for iPad.

Wait... has it been disclosed and confirmed that the RAM is 256MB? I read from Anand and Engadget that that thing has a minimum 512MB of RAM? We do know the A4 is 1GHz though.

I wonder how multitasking would cope with this configuration.

The fluidity could be Apple taking more advantage on the PowerVR SGX to run the show. For the record, we still don't know what variant is that SGX. The 3GS had the SGX 535 with enormous processing power. It could be 540 or 545 but no one will ever know. Thats the beauty of packing everything into the same die --> A4. RAM is also packed in. Thats why its so difficult to dig info. Hopefully developers could tell us some stories.

Its a blender company and they're trying to gain attention. Its increasingly lame though. They keep on blending very large things and in some series it doesn't make sense at all. I was shocked when they blend magnets and other solid metals. Good stuff.

The A4 processor is verified to be a Package-on-Package solution. Everything is packed in. The memory (verified to be manufactured by Samsung) is stacked right on top of the processor package. Its 256MB DDR2 RAM and because it is stacked so close to the processor it is faster and more power efficient. The rest of the stuff like GPU, DC-DC, accelerometer, etc are also packed in. This is one congested chip. The GPU is confirmed via benchmark to be comparable to PowerVR SGX 535. The processor is suspected to the same Cortex A8 but no one is sure if Cortex A9 could be inside it because it is also available as single chip form.

Well Apple has been known to be reliable and consistent in its product quality. Not until recently especially with their new product refresh like iMacs, etc, we heard enough. For the iPAD, we heard about WIFI issues and heat problems causing the OS to stop responding momentarily.

Let me give you an idea on buying an overseas product with no warranty support locally. The Nexus One was plagued with RAM problems in one of its first batches. Causing crazy reboots like it has a mind on its own. The buyers? They didn't really get stuck. They can still return it through the traders. They could go through the Singapore route for repairs. Its just a lot of inconvenience and disappointment from the users.

One clause in all of its policies will give it freedom to change any policy to however it like. So no need black and white. Its automatic. Even if you have an older revision of the terms and condition, Apple reserves the right to change any of that without requiring notifications unless certain rights stated by law.

Frankly speaking it is an unnecessary device hehehe but no harm having a fun device. I can foresee future students bring a slate device like iPAD with their reading material loaded in the device. No more textbooks. Heck, maybe they have more than one slate just in case they need to refer to more than one book at a time.

For now, most of your content and resources are on the textbook, journals, etc. So no go there hehehe...
