I didn't want to buy an iPad. Pooh-poohed the device. Thought the people who asked me to buy one while I'm in New York had more money than sense...
Bought two (the limit allowed to me when I was at the AppleStore in 5th Avenue), witnessed the crowds that were there buying the iPad (and this was a few days AFTER the launch) and have been playing with one over the last few days.
My impression: Apple is going to sell a whole lot of these.
... and that is from someone who never wanted one for himself and now stands humbly corrected.
Yes it needs a camera, an easier way to get files on and off and all these will be addressed in a future release. And yes, if US499 is a lot of money to you, you shouldn't be spending on a toy like this.
... but please don't be a small minded moron and dictate your own opinion on others.
