officially, no news... the resellers as usual are making up the answers so they don't get yelled at...
*
Wow...! I thought making up answers not right on target risked being yelled at..., I didn't know that even when resellers provide a "we don't know until Apple announces it" also get yelled at...

some customers are pretty f***ed up aren't they...?

WTF. Who's the first who stated no international warranty huh?  rclxub.gif  doh.gif
Already sent email to Applecare will see what they say. I will call them up if no email!

The question here is, how would you define international...?

From what Apple's stated as you've quoted, Apple may provide support services providing if and when such devices that are purchased from the country of origin is sent back to that country, in this case, only in the States.

So you cannot send it into Apple Stores in Australia for example, nor any other stores or resellers in any other countries except US.

So are we defining International as it revolves Apple worldwide, or are we defining as in iPad consumers worldwide...?

read again. It says they MAY restrict it to where you bought it. Which means it MAY NOT also. And they never put in word about sending back to country of origin.
your statement is just your assumption or you've spoken to Apple Support?
I hope you are not plain assuming here. iPhone is a different story due to telco locking & profit sharing. Repair claim are channelled differently bypassing usual service route. iPad on other hand is more like iPod.
*
chill dude. Someone misinterpreted you...?

Apple Retail Stores out of my reach, apple resellers and service providers, hell no. As for Apple Malaysia, they have no comment. You might try AppleCare during office hours.

As for the MAY thingy, it's all over their warranty policies, not only iPads, so it's open to interpretation as well.

Most probably the iPad is delayed because its waiting for the OS4.0 to be release together?

Mind you, the OS 4 for iPad will only be released end of this year... That's like 8 months from now...

bro, i dont think there is such a clause in their legal warranty doc...

it did mentioned warranty at country of purchase or otherwise, PROVIDED ALWASY there is evidence of purchase and Local Law applicable...

in conclusion, it is all up to Apple to decide...
*
dude... did i say i quoted directly from Apple's legal warranty doc...? I was merely quoted from wei's context... and didn't i use the word "MAY"...? which part of my sentence you don't understand..?

of course with the word "MAY" even in Apple's legal term, it's up to them to decide what they wanna do with it..., and like i said, it's open to interpretation doh.gif doh.gif

QUOTE(keyven @ Apr 15 2010, 10:48 PM)
Apple announced this morning that due to strong sales of the Apple iPad, they have delayed international delivery for about a month.
Although we have delivered more than 500,000 iPads during its first week, demand is far higher than we predicted and will likely continue to exceed our supply over the next several weeks as more people see and touch an iPad. We have also taken a large number of pre-orders for iPad 3G models for delivery by the end of April.

Apple reports that the high demand is responsible for the delay in international shipments. International delivery will take place at the end of May. Details and pre-orders will be announced on May 10th.

I wonder why is your clock out of phase with the rest of us...? doh.gif doh.gif

And please do not copy and paste without linking a source... I read this exact article somewhere.

it doesn't, but I think the ipad is missing some pretty fundamental features in its basic model such as a camera (front facing would be great), MULTI-TASKING, and there should be at least 32 GB on every model. Or at least an SD card slot, its 2010, not 2000!
*
basic model....? come on, it's just the first generation...

camera on iPad...? I've read somewhere (forgotten the source) that Apple's hiring someone to oversee the implementation of a camera possibly on the next gen iPad.

At least 32GB...? Too bad you're not the one manipulating the flash memory market.

SD card slot...? There's a camera connection kit for the iPad. And SD card slot will make the iPad form factor unfeasible...

Why? I have a Nook ereader, its smaller then the ipad, it doesn't have a color screen, however it does have an SD slot, 3g, and wifi. If they can fit all that stuff in a macbook air, they can definitely fit in an SD card slot. They just don't want too because they want people to upgrade their devices when the newer models come out.

That has always been the case with Apple, hasn't it...? wink.gif

Localised warranty means the ipad can only claim warranty from the country where it is purchased/sold... and Malaysia is not one of them....
