Hi Guyz, Currently im driving myvi 1.0 sr with minor mod which is Aftermarket Sport Muffler. Last week Im changing my oil every 4000km like usual, chg oil, spark plug ( 20k km already ), oil filter, and tuning back the engine. The car already 5 years. I got poison with my friends saying that x1r product are good this and that. So after i service i go to tesco and buy x1r product "engine treatment" bundle with the package is Fuel injector cleaner small bottle. So i pour the fuel injector in my fuel and pour the engine treatment in engine oil. The next day my mum ask me either i want to go to Cameron Highland or not. Since my car just service so i said never mind use my car.. Drive like normal nth happen up there.. no increasing power also this and that. Till yesterday when i driving back to my house from work, during jammed time my engine light blinking for 30 Sec and gone.. every 30 sec will blink once. Since this is my 1st car i dunno so much about engine. I stop at the side of the road and check my bonnet izzit got something wrong or not? since nothing obvious, i drive back to my house. I ask my father he said since you tuning that day go ask the mechanics to check back your car problem. than this morning i come to the shop and ask the mechanic to check back. He scan using his computer tuning thinggy. And the computer shows my o2 Sensor 'rosak'. Than i think back omg izzit true what other forumer said about x1r product regarding fuel injector thinggy. and you all should know the o2 sensor cost quite alot for me. So i ask the mechanics, can i still drive the car. he said no problem. just the car not as power like before. now i regret if really true the x1r thinggy. any advice from sifu here? the mechanics quote me around RM 300+ for the o2 sensor, my father suggest me go halfcut place look for passo or boon item... dunno laa.. feel really no mood already. p/s : sorry my English very poor. Hope you all can understand.

Get a new O2 sensor. O2 sensors usually have a useful life of about 100000 to 150000km depending on whether it's made from Zirconia or Titania. If you get a half cut one, it's most likely already dying. Thus just get a new one and bolt it in. Without an O2 sensor, the car can't finetune the AFR during cruising, forcing it to run rich, which can reduce your fuel economy by 20 to 30 percent, so you lose more in the long run.
300 ringgit is not much, i paid 700 for the stupid Bosch Nissan OEM one my car uses.

Have you ask the mechanic to clean the 02 sensor?
It might have been gotten dirty due to the addictive in the X1R getting burned and passing through the O2 sensor

Usually, the X-1R engine treatment will reduce friction in the engine moving parts thus creating more economical and powerful engine Dunno about u la,i use it on my Pajero 2.5TD,i had feel the power increase, maybe my engine is a larger CC and internal parts are heavier and more friction are created lo..... But 1 thing i can sure,it will prolong the life of the internal parts of your engine thus save even more money when you need to overhaul your engine About the Injector Cleaner thinggy....u not always need to use it....maybe 10,000Kms once or when u feel your car is lack power 300 for a O2 sensor, thats cheap oledi lo....others something like 800++ u know If u really want power increase based on fuel,u can use Octane improver that can buy at Jusco, this will work the best with the High Compression Engine, dunno about Myvi

Hope you all can understand. really a problematic issue to be highlighted. Thus, most continental car do have this o2 sensor problem, which deactivated during sometime.I guess, using x1r don't give you energetic power(although its recommended by p1*proton). Bare in mind, its a very big mechanical power runs by the engine, its dont need an additional SUPERSTITIOUS power to gain more BHp on engine.Trust me. Mind to share whatz up on your (highlited word above) thanks

You generally can't clean the O2 sensor as the assembly is sealed (aka : You can't clean it even if you wanted to). If it's dead it's dead. Just replace it. As for all these "treatments", i don't bother with them, if you want to reduce friction in your engine, that isn't the job of a petrol additive, but the motor oil. Change your oil and it's filter regularly and you're good to go, don't need any of these products. The most i'd use is detergent for the injectors, and even that it's better to manually send the injectors for cleaning. Also improving your octane above the car's usable standard is worthless. It's a MYVI man. Unless it's a Subaru WRX/Skyline/Evo in disguise, it can't take advantage of the higher octane fuel. Hell even my turbocharged car is fine with RON95 unless i up the boost to 11 PSI or more.

agree with empire23.....for me, those fuel/engine treatments are all useless....you change ur engine every 4000km...its more than enough on keeping the engine in tip-top condition...even those engine oil u use do contain addictive that will help to protect and clean the engine as it runs....u dont need those treatment as its totally useless and waste money....

Don't really need to tune it back, most ECUs are self learning and given a few drives will get everything right. Just replace O2 sensor and it's all good. Although you may experience shit FC for the time being. QUOTE(dantwt @ Jan 5 2010, 09:42 PM) Just to share... Honda Jazz Original O2 sensor assembly = RM11XX! If you're willing, you can look up the Bosch or NTK part numbers can get the same O2 sensor for 150 ringgit. lol Honda really cekik darah man. Too bad they only have the OEM O2 sensors for the R32/R33 and not the 34, and that's why i had to buy it from Nissan.

i usually use this x1r every 20K until 5k oil change. in between that i use the engine oil cleaner
first 5k servce - idemitsu semi syn 2nd 5k service - engine cleaner + idemitsu engine oil 3rd 5k - idemitsu semi syn 4th service - engine cleaner, idemitsu engine oil and x1r....repeat this cycle.
my engine clean. the mech open and ask me how many KM, i said already 100k KM.
Anyway, i've stop the x1r treatment already. no point....im using that money as part of a saving for an overhaul when i need to.
so i'l stick to 1st - engine oil 2nd - Engine oil cleaner plus new engine oil...and the cycle goes from 1st to 2nd.....

The engine cleaner you mentioning is Engine flush right ? Dont you think excessive flushing the engine will make those sludge block other passage and might damage those seals ?

Dont you think excessive flushing the engine will make those sludge block other passage and might damage those seals ? how can it block? it looks like normal oil and use for 10 mins and flush out. i dont put pressure on it by revving engine by the way....just let it run idle for 5-10 mins. so far result is better if i use this. but not too often la...2 times change, 1 time flush n change....
