So I've been reading about Game VPN, and I have my own server at JARING DC & Streamyx DC and experienced myself using personal made SSH Tunnel....instant 250ms...but that's it. Unless I'm on streamyx, the routing to JARING server is always bad.

Ok, just imagine if you're in position in major ISP, youre gamer...your server located at US, what should you do ?

1. Buy CDN to reduce lag ? Content Delivery Network ?
2. Buy a dedicated server in Dallas,US and VPN with you server in MY..and ssh tunnel to MY server ?
3. Is normal Linux will do or do I need to specialize the default network settings in the box ?

I need some stats too
1. How many active WoW players in Malaysia ?
2. How many quite WoW because of the lag / bad connection ?
3. Average bandwidth user for 1 user for 1 hour ( normal play & raiding )
4. Acceptable WoW ping reply ?

Other than asking Blizzard to put private server in MY, that's the only way to do it...

I'm not a network guy, but..can we reduce HOPs by VPN 2 servers ?

They will do nothing. I'm sorry but thats reality. Its not just wow player. Its online gamers. And there's a lot.

My network monitor tells me I'm only using 0.5kbs on average while WoW is running. I use a proxy and I'm happy with 300-400ms generally. Always happy if its less but I usually hover around there.

Somebody from ISP actually asking me, what kind of business that I want to venture ?

I'm web developer for almost 10 years, at night I play game...started wow on 2006 , play CS sometimes..and I have some basic system admin too....

so to cut the story short.......

Ppl in Malaysia can't enjoy the online gaming scene due to network latency. I tried overseas Tunnel service at can get stable 500ms...when I reverted back to normal.....800ms.......when I switch on my private server SSH ( TMNET datacenter )...stable 300ms

So I was wondering how to make the lag to sub 200ms....if they like my idea and prepare the budget for that......other than digging the ocean to make one to one US to Malaysia pipeline.

What's the main cause / culprits the game lag in Malaysia actually ? Due to JAPAN routing ?

according to Communications and Culture Minister, Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim,

our connection are better than many countries like zimbabwe
our connection are cheaper in region
our connection are stable

connectivity wise... well, it's kinda chicken and egg situation....

ya, i know... RWI / BB U2U's rant sink is that way ----->

side note:

Jaring's connection is constantly being buttock-secks by party none other than TMNut; it's embarrassing for a once great but now a lesser company to outperform monopolistic tycoon, the simple way is to screw the port once a while so that they can'r perform well and large customers assured.

cursing, defaming and joking about TMNut is becoming a habit for me

Why are you asking us...?

Ask the ISP guy that talked to you. Was it someone from TM?

Jaring asked, dont they rely on TM's backbone? Go sue them.

The right input is, we have shitty ping and shitty internet service. We can speculate why TM is f***ing up, but we won't have the actual answer.

Get this Business Division to consult with their Technical Department on how to improve pings or circumvent the terribadness that is TMnet. Implement "this faster ping" solution for free (as in come with DSL subscription) and you will see all gamers defect to Jaring.

that also means to say that non vpn users like me and imbecule (who just stopped, or waiting for the addiction to rebound?) would either:

1. spend over 1 hour reset ip
2. call TMNut help line
3. report MCMC

VPN wont do well when line being undesirably sucky ... remember last year's after hari raya's holiday? a lag-fest!!!

you're a wow player yourself, and from your own reply, you got your own answer.

No choice man! I was playing L4D and L4D2 in SG server,
even I get 4mbps package, still need to tunnel host.
If not, sometime will appear sometime will not...sad....
I know got a software can make the ping stable, try to google it,
I never use because it does not support 64bit OS.

Anyone had idea? I am taking the 4mbps package, the technician
came my house and port it to 2mbps, he said need a few days
to let the TMNUT port 2 more mbps. I wait for 3weeks already, it still the same, only 2mbps........any idea where to complain?
