Apparently Arcen are in trouble. They'll run out of money by next month if sales don't pick up. So if you know people who were mildly interested, try to get them on board. I'll think of something to help them out.

An update for everyone, they are currently working on Children of Neinzul, xpack that they will give all revenue to charity & a Unity3D version of AIWar that they will give to everyone who owns AIWar for free!.

They've done all these cool things for their community, it's time we try to help them out.

PS : I'll start by going back to playing this. I'm thinking of a lets play series.

I read about their predicament this morning.

I likelove the idea behind AI War. It's game mechanics in its purest form. Shame I'm horribly inept at playing grand strategy games though. Perhaps I will purchase the game even though the demo scared me.

That being said, I could not get into Tidalis (The source of their financial woes) at all. The core mechanic itself doesn't compel me enough.

I look forward to your LP, because (As Dwarf Fortress proves), if I'm too shit to play a game, I can still get the same joy by reading someone else's experience with it.

Yar, I bought the CoN xpac a while back too but Tidalis just isnt appealing enough to me to spend money on it at the moment.

Sad to see someone like him who actually had a semi-successful stuff going on still struggling for cash...
I was a bit worried seeing them "over extend" themselves a bit lately with the Unity stuff, charity xpac, Tidalis etc.

Hopefully sales pick up a bit =S

Ah, no wonder. GamersGate temporarily took down the link for AI War: Fleet Command, only to re-up it again with the 4.0 & I thought they've screwed up with some typo. sweat.gif

In case anyone is interested, there's a promotion going at the moment & all these packages come along with both PC & Mac version bundled together.
AI War: Fleet Command + AI War: The Zenith Remnant | -40% | $14.99
AI War: Fleet Command 4.0 | -50% | $9.99
AI War: The Zenith Remnant | -50% | $4.99

Damn Steam, it's downloading the AI War Fleet Demo eventhough I already have the full game.

Also, there seems to be a new DLC for AI War Fleet on Steam.

(ie. Children of Neinzul)

Good stuff!

I will also give it a spin, I bought Children of Nerzhul already, now to find a way to activate into steam so it saves my key there...

Just wanted to pop in and say that I just bought the AI War + Zenith bundle earlier today (Or yesterday) since news that the game has been streamlined and improved (I actually tried the very first demo of the game and it was really REALLY hardcore), together with the sale, pushed me to finally buy it.

Finished the tutorial (In a quarter of the time compared to the previous one! Really!) and am quite surprised at really how simplified it is now. So, I'll be bouncing in an out of here with random thoughts and whatnot.

Cheers

Yar the original tutorials were pretty hardcore and took a long time to finish, but they did give you quite good tip on some advances techniques like gate raiding or research raiding and went further than the "left button to select, right to attack" than most games tongue.gif

I just triggered a new game to see the new graphics and starting planet conditions, looks pretty different yar.

I also like that they apparently made end game less of a grind which was what put me off of finishing most of my games, there wasnt so much strategy at the end but just having the bigger stick to beat the AI.

Now if I had more time to play =P
