Hi guys, i'm sill puzzle on the Surround Dolby Digital from the Byond set though i read thru your comments. I was just wondering why when I select Dolby Digital only there is no sound but when i select stereo and dolby sounds resume for HD channels.

My question:
1) Do i still get Dolby sound when i select both stereo and dolby output?
2) What can i do to get this surround dolby sound thru the HDMI from the Byond box to my TV (Samsung Series 5) especially if i dont intend to get a AVR or an ampliflier, just strictly from the TV only. I also read on your comments to adjust the setting on the TV but there is no such thing as to select dolby output. Samsung has its own True Surround....

I just want to get the best audio quality for this new HD services

U wont get sound thru TV for HD channels if select DD5.1 option. SD channels ok, 'cos theirs only stereo. According to Astro people, they purposely 'off' the 5.1 sound ouput to TV thru HDMI to avoid 'distorted' sound(is it true?). So, to have sound thru TV for all (SD&HD )channels u must opt for analog/stereo. To enjoy DD5.1 u must go thru AVR/amp home theatre.

Anyone experiencing wierd behaviour with their subwoofers with astro.byond? It's wreaking havoc on mine with unnecessary signals. So bad I have to turn it off totally. Is there anything I should be aware of? Incorrect cross over frequency perhaps? Suggestions most welcomed.

Yes. Depent on programs. Their low freq very 'strong'. i normally lower my cross over freq to 50, sounds much better. cool.gif
