Hi, do you intend to average YTLP based on current market sentiment? I'm thinking if it falls to 1.6 or lower, maybe I can start to buy back.
*
Nope. Will buy more YTL CORP instead as i have enuff YTLP. YTLCORP share prices follow YTLP most of the time as 75% of its earnings contributed by YTLP.

Reasons for buying YTLCORP - It is more diversified and provides higher growth track record compare with YTLP.

Why not Arreit since YTLP/YTL div is sux at the moment? YTLCRAP, i think I will only consider if it falls near to RM1. Else, I still view it as expensive
*
Reits? Er.....personal view only ya.

I try not to buy reits even though dividend looks good. But personally i feel not safe of putting my money into reits. Reasons behind:

1. Reits only invest in Malaysia which is expose to single country risk.

2. Property bubble due to low interest rates.

Etc ...

I know ytlp and ytlcorp dividend sux.... However, as long as the company growth are sustainable then shouldn't be any problem.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But YTLP invested in both Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia) and Europe (England) & even jordan oil shale..etc.

At the moment, I do not see any light in YTLP, reason I sold it also and I was in fact frustrated with the div slashed to 50%. Regarding property bubble, I think as long as the REIT is having a safe gearing, should be ok gua.
*
YTLP no light?

No right or wrong lol.

To me :

1. 8 Billion cash pile

2. Bid for building new coal fire plant at indonesia

3. Wimax
hmm.gif This one i am sceptical. But chances are there.

3. As much as I applauded the YES service provided.
There is no light (yet) for wireless BB across at least for near term.
Ability to balance the book and with little cash drain, is already a big achievement.
Chance to make profit? highly doubt so for near term or even a few year down the road.
*
Yes. Totally agree. However, if few years down the road Wimax might be a "Cash Cow" ?? hmm.gif

But i do not put so much hope on that

Added on May 9, 2012, 5:15 pmI never thought YTL stocks are performing so badly....
*
By judging the share price u make assumption that this counter perform badly?

Result not coming out yet.

80% of ytlp profit contributed from overseas which are seraya and wessex.

Been buying quite a lot at 1.6++ - 1.7++ lately.

something good? 2016 only will start the mining...

let me add in something extra:

"Estonian state-owned energy giant Eesti Energia wants to complete the Jordanian oil shale consuming power station procurement and find investors before the end of the year 2012, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

After that, the share of Eesti Energia in the Jordanian project will decrease to around 10%, Eesti Energia finance director Margus Kaasik told the press on Monday.

Eesti Energia plans a 900 MW power station in Jordan. Last year Eesti Energia sold a 11% stake in the Jordanian project and included two investors. Currently Eesti Energia has a two thirds stake in the project. 30% of the project belongs to Malaysian company YTL Power International Berhad and 5% to Near East Investment.
"We read from papers that we take from home consumers and take to Jordan while actually it is vice versa: we reap the profits from the free market and invest it in Estonia," said Eesti Energia board chairman Sandor Liive."

Long term wise yes. U cun expect high dividend from ytlp at least for the next 5 years.

1. Wimax venture estimated 3 billion
2. One bestari net 1.5 billion
3. Jordan oil shale project another rm 6 billion.

Current cash hoard rm 8 billion

company operation wise should be perfectly fine.
However, quarterly report should be out by next week and i suspect ytlp might trimmed their dividend further due tomassive investment.

I bought it since the 90's... when that time they have a lot of cash ...
*
Now they also got a lot of cash 8.6+ million. tongue.gif

What different from last time was after Power SERAYA they even venture to Jordan Oil Shale, Wimax, One Bestari Net, Malaysia Power Plant Bid,
Indonesia Power Plant bidding with Marubeni. My view is a bit too aggresive .....

Successful or not ?? No comment......

My question is do they have so much cash?? One thing for sure.... Dividend trimmed .....

YTL POWER INTERNATIONAL BHD

By Affin Investment Bank

Buy (maintained)

Target price: RM2.45

WE continue to like this stock for its disciplined management stewardship, geographical diversity, sizeable war chest for opportunistic acquisitions and attractive valuation vis-vis historical average range.

Moving forward, we see the following emerging catalysts: concession-like contract win may propel the 60%-owned YTL Communica-tions into a growth stage and new plant-up cycle in Malaysia will provide growth opportunities for the group.

We maintain a “buy” with an unchanged target price of RM2.45, which implied 15 times calendar year 2012 earnings per share (EPS).

Growth opportunities, especially in the power sector, will likely be focused on.

The group's partnership with Marubeni could provide an avenue to grow generation capacity in Asia.

We believe the stock trades at a deep discount to its asset value. Based on current market capitalisation of RM13.2bil, we estimate the group's effective 4,556 MW power assets (in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia) is priced at 4.5 times its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation.

Separately, recent meetings continue to depict a strong PowerSeraya entity with a generation market share of 27% in Singapore.

We see growth opportunities for the group to participate in Peninsular Malaysia's next 4,500 MW plant up-cycle.

There also may be room to extend the tenure of the group's 1,212 MW Paka and Pasir Gudang power plants.

Our channel checks suggested three sites have been allocated for new combined cycle gas power plants.

The sites allocated potentially for a three times 700 MW gas-fired power plant are Prai, Pasir Gudang and Connaught Bridge, Klang.

We see strong competition from YTL Power's peers and would not be too surprise if YTL Power does not emerge a winner in this first round as a 7% to 8% project internal rate of return is seen as less attractive compared with other merger and acquisition opportunities.

However, we do believe that YTL Power will vie for the Pasir Gudang tender given the possibilities of shared infrastructure with its existing power plant on site.
Good night

QUOTE(ryan18 @ May 30 2012, 03:51 AM)
YTL Corporation Bhd is rewarding its shareholders with treasury shares and it is selling its warrants in YTL Power International Bhd at a discount of 53%.

YTL Corp said on Tuesday the basis of the distribution was on the basis of one treasury share for every 15 YTL Corp shares. The book closure date for the share dividend is June 18. It also proposed to sell its YTL Power warrants to YTL Corp shareholders on the basis of one warrant for every 15 YTL Corp shares held, at an offer price of 20 sen per warrant.

It added the offer price was a discount of 53% to the five-day weighted average market price of 43 sen per warrant.

YTL Corp said the proposed offer for sale would be on a restricted renounceable basis to the shareholders on an entitlement date to be determined later.
*
Food for thought.

Who has the most YTLCORP shares??

More than 50% hold by Yeoh's Family.....

This indirectly tell us Yeoh's Family are getting YTL POWER WARRANT B at a lower price......

In other words they are accumulating YTLPOWER shares lower than market price......

Malaysia Power Rates to Come Down

[quote]In April, EC issued a Request For Proposal (RFP) for the renewal of the PPAs held by the 1st generation Power Producers for a period of 5 or 10 years.

Those that are successful in getting their PPAs extended will see their commercial rates adjust almost immediately in the 48 months leading up to the expiry of the contract (2015)

* Of the 11 Power Plants that took up the RFP, 5 belongs to TNB.

Energy Commission intends to renew only 2300 MW OR 56% of the 4,100 MW 1st generation IPP.

* Total capacity of the 5 Tenaga Plants comes to 1,779 MW which leaves a short fall of 521 MW only.

Capacity payments could be cut by 50% !!!
