system base device usually refer to Card Reader or Intel Chipset..try and install the card reader driver/chipset nod.gif...

you want to use Ubuntu on S42 brows.gif..there are guides on the 2nd post 1st page nod.gif...the one written by master of ubuntu, the keyboard thingy, i think every S42 users in here know about that problem...you need to adjust the loader and put in some code so that the keyboard can be use smile.gif...read through bro nod.gif...its easy laugh.gif..

about the keyboard issue, u go ubuntu forum ,seach for me(same username as here), and check threads started by me..i posted the same question there and gotten the solution...
too bad our marine Mr Poison not here, if not he would be able to find it in almost no time...

about the driver, u can only install the hybrid graphic ones, the 195.81 is not for hybrid graphic..if u wanna install normal drivers, i'm afraid you'll have to flash to XP bios, that would disable intel GMA and remove our power saving mode...

anyway i just checked notebook review, it seems like Nautis's Vaio broke down, and he'll need to repair it before he could develop any new drivers again...however he would post a guide on how to make the drivers..i should prolly go learn how to do it lol..haha

well, stability OSX is better than Window but really comes down to what you really want in a OS...Window gives us much more software while OSX just software that people usually use when using OSX nod.gif..

i heard the overall usage experience is better, for non-gamers
especially with the multitouch mouse/touchpad, switching between apps, forward back, scrolling, all done by finger swipe

well, from my POV..i would say that OSX is good for a non-gamers smile.gif...the problem is, S42 cannot support all the hardware for OSX sad.gif..if not, i'm willing to multi-boot my S42 between 7,Ubuntu & OSX smile.gif...
