My suggestion is go with what u think u like n what you can afford, becos the more u ask for opinion the more confuse u will, like me my lastest led sharp lcd tv i bought becos i think it better than my sammy, i know a lot of sammy fans there will argue sammy is better but for me sharp is better for me becos my instink tell me its better

Last month when I was out shopping for a HDTV, both model were in my shopping list.

I end up with Panasonic Plasma TH-P42S10K.

Why?...because it have 2 inches more to view @ the same price.
Also, color for plasma is more natural & it's also gentle to eyes which is the most precious point to me. Because we (family with children) watch marathon movie & TV series over weekend.

Here are some of my judgement:

Power :
Sammy B530 only consume 190W while P42S10K consume 350W.
This also mean that Plasma release more heat. Is heat a problem to you? Or is your home eletricity bill a problem to you? (note that there's no significant different comparing with previous month w/o it).

Glare :
Do note that, even tough this P42S10K are less glare then HD Ready X & C series, it's still has glare compare to Sammy B530. If your house has glaring windows, this will give some issue - that is if you care.

Image Retention & Burn in issue :
Do note this is common in Plasma. If you worry about this, go get Sammy B530 then. I have a PC attached to my plasma *set screen saver @ 5min. So far * touch wood, no problem la. I also play Wii on my plasma, also no seen any IR issue.

Do your judgement base on what you want. Go out & see yourself which is the best for you.

Before deciding on a particular brand, I think you should start off by deciding whether you need a LCD or a Plasma in the first place.

What to do? TS is contemplating between a Samsung 40b530 or Panasonic P42s10k. One's a LCD and the other a Plasma. Dun u think its better for TS to differentiate btw technologies first rather than brand?

i put my moolah on the samsung, as I got it for RM400 less than the Panasonic....

makes up for the 2" less. Also consider if you really prefer plasma more than LCD or not as it is an important factor.

I got my 40b530 @ RM2599 (got it, i think plus another RM50 or RM70 Petronas voucher) last few weeks from HLK (plus delivery and installation). So far, my wife is watching without complain as i am in vietnam for 2 weeks. It was during CIMB c/card fair.

The sales guy told me can get about RM2600 - RM2700 without the fair. You can try your luck there.

Hi there.. I just bought a Toshiba 40CV600E after comparing it with the 40B530 at SenQ.. The toshiba was selling for 2699 and the sammy 2799... After a side by side comparison of it.. I found out that toshiba do give a better natural color compared to samsung.. Samsung's color is too vibrant and the whites and not so true whites.. Where the toshiba has better picture quality and contrast but a slightly darker panel ( but that can be compensated by turning up the brightness).. IMHO...
