Overhere in sabah, Panasonic plasma p42s10k still cost a bomb RM3050 while samsung 40b530 cool down a bit to rm2650.

Still reckon Panasonic plasma a better choice but price is a major factor here. Sharp 40A77 cost RM3900 overhere.

If Sony didn't have any offer going on (40S550+DAV-Z590+S360 for RM3850), i will still vote for Plasma.

me too confused on all the models available out there....last weekend narrowly clinch sony V series but what my eyes sees was it jutter whereas the X model with 200hz is smooth as CRT. Saw a lot saying hz not important but than again, those 42 inch without 100hz, i see jutter especially at the end of the movie where the words start coming out..

appreciate enligthtment in somewhere this forum, HZ is not important as to me layman, i tot the more HZ is to smoothen the jitter. am not sure on panny plasma but its one of my targetted lists.

i believe plasma @ lcd hav its own advantage..it depends on ur preferrence.as 4 me,ive owned both plasma & lcd.where as my lcd wil be used 4 gaming session and my plasma 4 watching movies.as plasma wil do greatly 4 movies watching due to its black production, and also good 4 SD gaming console such as PS2 & Wii.while HD gaming console (PS3 & Xbox) wil do good wif lcd.
For me,i wil go for sharp as i dont hav much faith in LG brand from my past xperience with this brand (sory LG owner..juz my 2cent).

I spend quite sometimes reading review and looking for the best LCD/LED/Plasma for my money.
Went to Desa HT at LY this afternoon to search for bargain TV.
After researching quite a lot I have the Samsung 6 and 5 series, Toshiba Regza, the new Sharp Quattron, LG and SonyBravia on the back of my head.

After viewing and great help from one of the salesman (Thilak - Thanks bro), only one set that caught my eye, Philips LCD series 7. I was advised that the model was discontinued with Series 6. My budget was 5k. I was quoted 5300 for the 6 series LED. I was quite happy with it but decided to go and check around. By this time, I have really decided to buy the philips as the colour and the non reflective screen really caught my eyes.

I then went to Harvey Norman Mid Valley to look for the TV and to get the quote. They do not have the model but suggested the 9 series LED (46') which they have quite a big discount. The RRP was 12999 but selling for 8700. Obviously it was well over my budget. They give me a brochure and what caught my eyes was that the 9 series for LCD have the exact same feature with the LED i.e., ambi light, 200Hz, 1ms Response Time, 17bit colour processing, 2,250 trillion colour palette, 4 speakers,etc.. the only different was the contrast ratio, 5m:1 (LED) and 80k:1..

I asked about the model, and he showed me the display, which from my naked eye, look quite stunning. The discounted price was 4999 but he gave me 3999 for it. I did called the Desa guy for the quote but hey do not have the model but the LED one they are selling 9200.

As a conclusion, I am waiting for my new set to arrive tomorrow:)
oh.. BTW, the model was give 5 stars by What Hifi. Hope this help..
So the morale of the story is that you have to go and look for yourself what model suit you better.
