Problem Installing GarminXT on Nokia N86. Pls help

1. Once you’ve downloaded, unzip the files to someplace accessible preferably on your desktop. If you haven’t, please download it.
2. Connect your phone via USB and select ‘Mass storage mode’.
3. From you PC, double click “GarminMobileXTforSymbianS603rdEdition_50060.exe” to install and wait. Do u mean unzip "2. Garmin XT 5.06 Installer" and get a sis file? do i need to sign this file?
4. Double click “GarminMobileXTSupportFiles_4xxxx.exe” to install.
5. Remove USB connection between PC and phone.
6. From your phone, go to File Manager-Memory Card. There should be GarminXT.sis file. Install it.the sis file is not auto-generated, i need to copy to phone memory in the install folder. Is this right way?

Cracking GarminXT on N86.

1. Tell yourself and say “Yes, I’m a cheapskate”. tongue.gif
2. Run GarminXT from your phone at Menu > Application > Garmin. It will prompt you with some settings. Choose your preferable." The garminxt window appear and disappear, after that nothing happen alr. What is wrong, pls help.

Congrats fishmango!! Recommend 2 battery utilities software.

Capree ION Batter Timer (bro KnY found this) very nice interface and colour.. It adds a plugin to ur standby screen to tell you the remaining battery time. Very accurate timer after few charging cycles cause the software use its own algorithm to calculated the battery remaining time.. Very nice 'power save' aka screen saver included. (i notice it doesnt disappear after some time though, not good for battery better not activate) can pm me if looking for special version..

Next is Nokia Energy Profiler. Read more here.
Nokia Energy Profile Download Link

Nice feature is the remaining battery voltage.

I read about the latest version of Garmin XT creates a background process and remain on even after you close the app. Anyone have further details? The only way to terminate it is to use KillMe or similar apps.

thanks bingyoa. Will try those.

Regarding the camera silent sound. It doesn't work for me either. After some simple google search, I found out that it has something to do with the Warning Tones under profiles.

However, that's not all. You need to a minor patch.

First, you need to download this file mute camera

[attachmentid=1404033]

(NOTE: Rename the file extension to .sis instead of .sis.txt)

Then, you need to sign it. You can do it here,

https://www.symbiansigned.com/app/page/publ...SignedOnline.do

Your last step is to restart your phone. And under silent profile, there will no longer be any focus and shutter sound.

hi,
i new. after signed the sis file, what do with file?
