Problem Installing GarminXT on Nokia N86. Pls help

  1. Once you’ve downloaded, unzip the files to someplace accessible preferably on your desktop. If you haven’t, please download it.
  2. Connect your phone via USB and select  ‘Mass storage mode’.
  3. From you PC, double click “GarminMobileXTforSymbianS603rdEdition_50060.exe” to install and wait. Do u mean unzip "2. Garmin XT 5.06 Installer" and get a sis file? do i need to sign this file?
  4. Double click “GarminMobileXTSupportFiles_4xxxx.exe” to install.
  5. Remove USB connection between PC and phone.
  6. From your phone, go to File Manager-Memory Card. There should be GarminXT.sis file. Install it.the sis file is not auto-generated, i need to copy to phone memory in the install folder. Is this right way?

  Cracking GarminXT on N86.

  1. Tell yourself and say “Yes, I’m a cheapskate”. tongue.gif
  2. Run GarminXT from your phone at Menu > Application > Garmin. It will prompt you with some settings. Choose your preferable." The garminxt window appear and disappear, after that nothing happen alr. What is wrong, pls help.

Yeah actually it's as big until you can see something.... it's like a see-saw, when you press the bottom of the d-pad, the bottom sinks, but the top rises, creating a huge gap between the top and the underneath of the d-pad.

Regarding the lens.. I'm not too sure what are you refering too... are you refering to the back camera lens? front camera lens? and I did not take note of the shape of the back lens.
*
Nothing wrong with mine either rclxms.gif
I'm using the round camera lens...

Hey guys, thanks for the reply. Very very the tempting to buy it now  drool.gif
Btw, how can i check if the firmware is V20 or V11? Any major differences?

About the N-gage games, do I need to purchase? Or download it from some website?

Also, just wondering, instead of buying directly from the Nokia shop, actually any differences if i buy through authorized dealer - Avaxx, Zitron set? Price difference?

(I also prefer the phone to be naked, haha  thumbup.gif )

Just go for it bro!!! biggrin.gif

Latest N86 News!!!

™Firmware V21.006.54.1!!™

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The last firmware update for Nokia N86 (v20), bought in face detection for the camera and few other new features. This new firmware update is basically a maintenance release and it looks to fix the numerous bugs with the current firmware. Users can easily update the firmware of the phone by entering *#0000# and then selecting the option of “Check For New Updates”. Since Nokia N86 supports UDP (User Data Preservation), users can update the firmware via FOTA, and they don’t need to worry about losing any of their contacts or messages. Users who have updated the phone to the latest firmware, don’t report any major performance improvement. Typical of Nokia, no official changelog is available for this firmware udpate until now.

Update using FOTA Info!!!

Kamikraze, the mass memory cannot be used (message inbox) when it's connected to pc as mass storage. That's why the phone will auto set to phone memory. Anyway, my mass memory and phone memory always corrupted when I connect to pc via usb. Now I phobia already, dunno why it seems like I can never remove hardware safely. No biggie I don't care..

wahhh.. if u open bro fishmango pix and see.. can really see the bug lol. good one good one!! The details of the wing, good good. Bro SJN, the compass no need to on gps also can work. Just run compass app. be careful not to go online if you don't wanna be charged 3G or edge. It can easily go up to few mb (kena once RM10+). Just for ur info if u do load it via internet, it will show u a map of ur current location even without gps. Then to make the compass work u gotta calibrate it everytime u run the compass map. Just move ur hand holding the phone in a figure infinite (something like 8 shape) keep doing till you see the N compass sign turns green.. Do the shape bigger and faster.. anyway you can have a try now lol. It works cause theres a magnetometer inside the N86.

special msg to KJN. the compass app should already be in the phone..

Added on January 17, 2010, 1:19 amI just notice photos taken with low light condition at high iso cause really terrible noise and detail lost, if you see carefully. Anyone can snap some shot low light with high ISO and let me compare? hahaha..

Thanks BingYao, i'm also having some issue with remove hardware safely....have to do it for many time until it can b remove safely....so annoying.
