I've browse through a bit, seems nobody has ever start up this topic.

Let's have the sharing here.
Okay, my questions are
1) Does anyone read the analyst report on regular basis?
2) Which bank's / brokerage analyst report do you read and prefer?
(CIMB, Maybank, AmBank, RHB, ECM, etc....)

3) How much do you trust it? What the accuracy you will mark them?

I myself have experience with CIMB, Maybank and RHB only.
Most of the time I read CIMB's version. Presentation wise pretty good and pretty conservative.
Like RHB way of presenting Technical Analysis.
When talking about Maybank, don't like it at all. For me it seems quite messy.

I give CIMB accuracy about 65%.

What do you guys think? thumbup.gif

I beg to differ.

CIMB is ultra positive or aggressive, to me.

But 35% discount sounds reasonable to me.

Just my opinion only.

Agree with CIMB accuracy is 65% but they are aggresive. If you realise this. They are especially aggresive on reports on the shares that they have issue warrants.
Feel free to correct me anyone. After all, its my opinion :-)

I usually don't read them regularly. Usually I do the analysis on my own, calculate the Fair Value on my own and then see what other analyst says about a particular stock just for fun tongue.gif

all those financial ratios lo...
but before you start to compare the ratio with other company within the same industry then you will need to adjust it, in order for them to be standardize in one format, standard or methods.....
then calculate the intrinsic value of the particular counter you're interested...(still a beginner)

CIMB report is extremely aggressive. And they have got a prop desk to help support their calls.

Before I go on to calculate a company's fair value, I will screen through the stock to see if it fulfills certain Fundamental criterias. Once I'm sure it fulfills the Fundamental criterias, then I will go on to calculate its fair value using a certain formula. All these is revealed in the Bursa Winners e-book here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1124457 Very good read for beginners and seasoned investor who keep losing money.
