Local. If can cover the tuition fees is more than enough already.

I already asked CIMB. They don’t have education loan. I’m going to take professional course (CPL/IR).

Few banks today have educational loans. Bank Rakyat is the only one, but I doubt they'd do CPL/IR, when I asked they only said MQA certified universities only. Most banks will try and steer you towards personal loans which is BS IMO. If you can, do a property refinancing or something similar.

Good luck.

If possible I want to avoid the personal loan because the interest is killing me. That is my last solution if I cannot get any education loan. The course is about 2 years.

You suggest me to take property loan?

the last check with the bank - rhb bank seems like still offering study loan, you need to show them your letter of offer, then only tell u more info, if i am not mistaken, you will need collateral to do so.....check it out with the officer (cos the last i checked was like 5-6 months ago)

POYOZER,

Spending 280K for 2 years of education. You need to earn about 280K X 2 = 560K to pay back. So, I hope that you do enough ROI study to make sure that it is worth it.

I don't think it worth it.
RM200k for two years study and taking loan?

What those professional course take worth a house?
Do you think you are able to pay off after you finished?

Nowsaday most courses can be offered locally. Why you want to go UK?

If you want to travel there, just spend 20k and make a round trip throughout the UK/europe. Two years travel is too much.
Then you spend a few ten k to study in local institution, isn't that be better?

hey man, if you really do that, you life will be difficult when you come back.. 200k may cost you a life to pay back..

You must be a young graduate that never work before.. Please learn how to earn money before you learn how to spend.. working money is something hard-earned.

i thought he said he is going to do it locally? did i misread sth?

anyways, if 200k for 2 years' study locally, personally i don't think worth it. it would be better if u use that 200k to study overseas, it's enough to study for 1-2 years. really, spending more than rm100k to study locally not a wise idea, somemore you are taking a loan

and as i know, most banks in malaysia cancel education loan even rhb bank, only bank rakyat and agro bank.

200k educational fee is too high and if you earn 5k a month then, you need 3 years + 4 mths to repay all (just principal only) without any living expenses...

Hello all. Yeap, the course I planning to take is Commercial Pilot License.

Today, I went to few banks such as RHB, CIMB, Public Bank, Bank Rakyat, Ambank and Bank Islam. Bank Rakyat they have education loan but they doesn’t give loan for this course. Ambank got education loan but not for adults. Other banks only provide Personal Loan and they prefer government servants. Only Bank Islam can give me the education loan for pilot. The maximum loan is RM150000 and I still need to find another RM100000.

By the way, how much will they pay after graduating the pilot course?

If it is high enough, then it worths a try..

Just make sure you can get back what you spend..

Becoming a pilot should be a high-end job, in my opinion, not everyone has the chance..

why you don't ask sponsorship from airasia?

then better get bond by them..

since you already determined to be pilot..

I was working for few years already. They give priority to those who just finished their SPM and also they only open a very few slots for public. The others slots are for their own people including staff. That is what I heard from their top management. The chances for me to get is very slim. I’ve tried already but didn’t get. And the selection itself already takes a very long time. There are many stages to go. My age is almost reaching the maximum limit for Ak Cadetship. I need to compete with so many people for just 2 slots (for public). Can you imagine how many straight A’s students applying and I need to compete with?

How sure are you that Bank Islam provide education loan as I called them up today and they said they do not provide education load at this moment (They do previously) but not now.

Hmm... - Also please state which branch did you visit and when because I would like to confirm this again with the respective branches.

Thank You

I went to Putra Heights branch. They not provide education loan? So weird. I need to re-check again for confirmation. Btw, the interest rate is quite low.

I don't think they do anyway, I've re-check again with the branch you visit (Putra Heights, Selangor) and they keep saying no such loan available since last 3 months ago.

its not easy like that to become selected. unless you stand out from crowd by becoming best students, or you have insider, then it totally nearly impossible.

I just re-check again at different branch, PJ, the previous one is Putra Heights told me the wrong info. They don’t have Education Loan.

The previous one told me I just need to pay 5.5% interest for 15 years. And today, the different branch told me I cannot get the 5.5% interest. But for non-government servants need to pay about 8% for 10 years.

I didn’t ask much about Ambank because they give priority for gomen only. Private cannot get.

Hello Cpt. Penanya,

I didn’t manage to enter the aviation world due to financial problem. I cannot get education loan and also I cannot get a big personal loan because my parent is not a government servant. The small personal loan, the interest rate is very high. The max I can get is below RM100k which is still far away to go.

Bank Islam. They can give you about RM150k. For private, below RM100k. I forgot the exact amount.
