AMD Sempron64 2500+
Asus K8N-E Deluxe
Advanced Module 512mb DDR400 x1
Maxtor 40GB PATA HDD
MSI FX5200 GC
Samsung DVD Rom & Samsung CDRW
Powerlogic 500w PSU
Cheapo RM38 Wireless Mini KB & Mouse
Linksys Wireless USB Adapter
Edifer R501 MK-II connected to on-board audio
(yeah yeah i know...but trust me...this mobo has excellent on board audio when paired with the r501)
Panasonic 21" TV (Waiting for cash for a 29" or mebbe even a 34")
Some brandless 4 or 5 year old beige ATX Casing
this would be my 2nd unit for the r501. 1st one is still working excellently on my main rig.
anyway.. the HTPC is awesome man.... i have to say the speakers are excellent. they work well with my setup. watching movies is so so nice. so those of u who are planning to setup a cheapo home theatre i would definitely recommend the r501. best bang for buck IMHO.
i know i could get bettter sound with a better sound card... but trust me... this is good enough. no intentions of any upgrades... i even UV-fied the rig (pics can be seen HERE) yeah...i was on 3 weeks leave and had nuttin better to do
but of course... watching downloaded movies will vary depending on the encoding... some will have low volume some are alright. but its still a pleasure to just sit in bed n hear gunshots right behind your head
loving it so much right now. muahahhaha
