Haha rclxms.gif i think it is better if you place your rear sat just beside your front, at the floor level i think you will not hear the surround tongue.gif

R501 is a 5.1 surround, you need external sound card if you using laptop, i belive most does not have 5.1?

Id you have budget like R501, you may try also S2.1D, 2.1 stereo wink.gif

Hard to copare 2.1 - 5.1

Stereo - Surround

S2.1D = High end stereo

R501 MK2 = Mid, good price surround

Sound quality for sure S2.1D

Poor language there tongue.gif

Anyway, hope you got the correct DVD player at first, which normally have lots of RCA output (audio, red + white)

Then check your DVD player manual, see to to get into the setup page and choose surround or 5.1 config,

Carry on, check is all the speaker working,
Which you can SWITCH them in pairs just to try does is sound,

Lastly, please do call up Edifier help line if you dont really understand which writen above wink.gif

Good Luck laugh.gif

I see, how is the bass / sub woofer control? All nicely setup?

How is your 'lack of bass'? Nearly hear? Too soft?
