R501 is a 5.1 surround, you need external sound card if you using laptop, i belive most does not have 5.1?
Id you have budget like R501, you may try also S2.1D, 2.1 stereo |

If nothing to do with the speaker try off it ot standby mode, this will give u longer life and less heat
Double check the problem if it really problem by the sat or the port? Or even you source? Have to make sure, else bring to Edifier Showroom to check / warranty |

Poor language there
Anyway, hope you got the correct DVD player at first, which normally have lots of RCA output (audio, red + white) Then check your DVD player manual, see to to get into the setup page and choose surround or 5.1 config, Carry on, check is all the speaker working, Which you can SWITCH them in pairs just to try does is sound, Lastly, please do call up Edifier help line if you dont really understand which writen above Good Luck |

How is your 'lack of bass'? Nearly hear? Too soft? |
