QUOTE(YuNGSeNG @ Sep 21 2010, 01:27 AM) Nice story sharing, to open up our mind. I believe most of us will choose to become the youngest son. Not true. You just go around the LYN forum. People WANT to be as rich as the youngest son but will not take action or sked or put down others so others dont succeed. "Like wa you so young earn 5 digits ah... go bullshit elsewhere la", "What you have to start that biz, nid modal lor?" when ppl ask is how to start not for them to auto-doubt. etc... you know the list goes on.However, it is not neccesary the youngest son will be successful. Sometimes, culture is the vital issue as human culture is hardly to change. In real life, some big companies implement globalization or market segmentation having difficulty and failed, just because they didn't study the target customers' culture. |

Do you guys believe in business karma? Doing things right so that somewhere down the line it will benefit you or wont come to bite you in the back. E.g. Perhaps you experienced that you held back some info to some other business then later you realised likewise the other company also held you back due to your own actions?

I got a question for employing businessmen (and women).
How much hidden cost to hire and keep in employement for a staff? Example: I want to hire an office worker RM 4000/mth salary. -How much to expect to pay to acquire 1 person? (Job search, employment agent etc) -How many percent more on average do I need to add on top of his salary to pay for his EPF/SOCSO/misc (hidden costs)? -Any other hidden costs to consider? -What are your opinions on annual bonuses? (chinamen welcome to reply too ya) I am looking to employ some staff soon, getting my balance sheet right to avoid negative cash flow. Replies from experienced people or HR welcomed. |

Hi All,
My wife inherited small clerical service company recently. The income is enough to keep it afloat + some pocket money. I want to help her to expand but I am a working horse with no experience in business. So far we've managed to come up with a list of companies using such services. The companies either hire freelancers or have existing contracts with competitors already. What is your advice on approaching the companies? Cold call to the receptionist? What method works for your company? Thanks a bunch! |

I c. This week, my wife started sending emails out to companies that we know who need our type of service. We will follow up via call a week later.
Can you share some of your experience with your own company? I love to hear war stories, it put some realism to the advise. QUOTE(LawrenceTan @ Aug 7 2013, 09:17 PM) Perform sales pitch to the business owner. Drop an email or make a call give a brief what you doing. Ask for permission whether could arrange a meeting for discussion and showtime. But first please know your strength before perform sales pitch. Why they have to switch from their current service provider. Emphasize your strength and convince them. |
