QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Mar 16 2010, 01:06 AM) If you want a card lot of promotions, then it has got to be HSBC. I've just called SC and being told they don't offer Visa Infinite card anymore Standard Chartered Bank Priority Banking VISA Infinite credit card. So, it seems I am left with unfavourable RHB / CIMB . |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Mar 16 2010, 01:03 PM) They still have VISA Infinite. Just that it is now reserved exclusively for their Priority Banking customers. Just deposit RM250,000 into your Standard Chartered Bank account and ask your relationship manager to fill up the form for you. All you need to do is to sign the form and voilà ! The card will arrive in your designated address in the next few weeks That's easy! Thank you for the info.TQ. This post has been edited by niel: Mar 16 2010, 01:51 PM |

QUOTE(siutimtim @ Apr 8 2010, 04:33 PM) Which platinum cards allow me to access KLIA Premium Plaza Lounge for free? Anyone use that before, what can we do there actually wo? there's nothing much there except for the free beer and foods... i would rather pay for the food at the new "jalan alor" in klia anyway.By the way, if it is free for plat card user, so if I take my dad's card, I still can go in right? back to your question, it's not all platinum cards are acceptable, only limited to eon, standard chartered, ocbc, citibank, ambank, alliance and amex. however, do note the restriction of each bank. for eg. eon allows principle/supp card to access, but with a very limited quota which always hit on the 2nd week of the month. standard chartered limits the free access to principle card holder only and not sure about others. best is to call plaza premium lounge to check. |

QUOTE(siutimtim @ Apr 8 2010, 04:47 PM) how do they know whether I am the principal card holder or not. Assuming that my dad has standard chartered and alliance bank card.. he can take the standard chartered and I take alliance bank to enter right? i don't know how they would know, but what i know is they will take down your card number. i don't know if SC will subsequently charge it to your bill or not because it is clearly written free access for principle card only. QUOTE(hye @ Apr 8 2010, 04:57 PM) It is encoded in your 16 digit card number. There's a different combo for principal and supplementary. The moment your card is verified through the machine - they'll know it. they don't run your card through the machine, only take down your card number. i can't remember if the one in klia verify it against your name on boarding pass or not, but the one in lcct didn't do that. |

QUOTE(hye @ Apr 21 2010, 11:36 PM) It's not a problem with the limit imposed on the merchant. It's a case of the merchant itself don't want to accept car payment via cc. alright, just got some confirmation from friends in car industry. reason being merchant does not want to bear the bank charges. they do, however accept "booking fee". |

This thread is fast becoming a basic Q&A thread. Let's discuss something different.
How well your current credit card is serving you? For myself, I am still with Maybank due to the following reasons:- 1. 5x Petronas Point. I have plenty of tanks to be filled up each month, 5x point is really something. Imaging RM150/tank = 750 pts, I will get back almost RM4 worth of vouchers. Who needs the petite cash rebate then? 2. 2x point for any spending with AMEX, most grocery stores, gadgets, fine-dining and even shopping mall restaurants are accepting AMEX. Once in a while, there are promo of 10x points. I am really making full use of these offers including buying vouchers from groceries stores for use during non 10x period! 3. On-the-spot redemption, save me additional 1000 pts for every RM50 voucher. I always use my point to exchange for shopping/petrol vouchers because it's better value, it can be used during promotion in malls as well, that's additional discount. I used to get 167pts = RM1 voucher, but now they have increased to 186pts = RM1. 4. Maybank point never expires, so keep accumulating! All your different cards with Maybank, Amex, Petronas, Supplementary etc etc, the points can be accumulated as well. 5. Annual fee waiver, required a call to Maybank, but easily waived for all the cards under your account. 6. The bad point is, their customer service line is extraordinarily hard-to-reach, if not impossible, even for their dedicated Platinum line. I am now exploring what HSBC can offers, so do share yours! HSBC customer service, to me, is top-notch. Anytime I call, I can get a human to talk to me immediately. I thought the good service is only for Premier card holder, but even the phone number for Plat and Gold card owners are great! |

QUOTE(cute_boboi @ May 3 2010, 03:26 PM) To answer a query above, the cost is included when redeeming MBB TP. E.g. Jusco RM100 voucher costs about 21,000 TP. But if redeem at MBB Counter (e.g. 1Utama), it costs about 16,700 TP only. No more 16,700, beginning 1/4/2010, it has been revised to 20,000. Parkson has the cheapest at 19,300.However, I don't think all items can be redeem this way. |
