i wonder if there is a bank curtesy waiver of the tax on high-volume cards. anyone with a turnover of around 50k p.a. per card tried to get a waiver from their bank?

didnt say premium.... only saying high smile.gif

i took 50k cause this means profit to the bank from charges is around 1-1,5k (2-3%). so with this kind of turnover it *should* be worth keeping the customer and pay RM 50. even if you discount the points value and cash back and other costs - this would be maybe 800RM tops and the member would still be profitable right?

just wondering ...

You are right. Most foreign banks will pay on your behalf but don't expect any black & white cause BNM disallow them to do so. As a hint, give HSBC, UOB or Std Chart a try  whistling.gif

i would have guessed that wink.gif wonder if alliance bank will do the same. i guess, my spending should be considered at least high enough (i wont say how much though) - hopefully enough for them to swallow that pill. otherwise i can always switch. shall give their CS a ring - got until april.

indeed its a good overview. i will try to get my RM 50 charge + 25 for the supp card waived or absorbed by alliance bank based on the amount we spend. it's probably not what they consider "high roller" but it should be hefty enough for them to care if i spend the money with their card or with another smile.gif. renewal date is april so i will post results next month or so when i need to talk to them...

i am loving the charge card idea. what's the max amount i can withdraw from ATM with this card? i need to break even on the 10 RM charge to make it worth my while with the flexi loan.

anyone has any insight on this? shall call and enquire on max. credit line tomorrow.
