the underpower of Forte is felt when climbing even small hill.. hmm.gif FC rating increased when pressed harder on the pedal (of course!).. i climbed Bukit Brinchang (Cameron Highlands) before with my old wira.. dun think Forte can take that sweat.gif
But i did achieved 6.2L/100km on DUKE last night rclxms.gif .. straight way with few cars, so... hehe... tongue.gif

Aha... this is the first time someone understand what I am talking about.. Yup.. the Empty barrel rolling sound.. picking up by the 17" wheels and sort of "amplified into the back seating area... a bit nuisance and fatigue hearing it even just of the short test drive

I am driving a year 99 Iswara which is noisy also but some how the one in Forte made me feeling fatigue and its only happen at certain speeds with certain road surface.

just came back from Peugeot showroom.. the 308 THP with also 17" wheels.. even lower profile does not has that kind of noisy road noise travel into the interior.
*
Brought 2 of my friends out for lunch today with Forte, and they really enjoy the ride even we were stucked in jam! smile.gif
I specifically asked one of them (sitting @ the back) if she hear any noise, she said no, and was too comfort almost fall asleep in the jam! Hehe.. smile.gif

hello all.. i've just came back from 1st service at puchong.. overall experience so so only.. they need 3 times align and test drive my car. but i still feel the prob has not been resolved yet.

about the performance. i dunno la.. likes never change the oil.. is it normal? kinda heavy. just hope they really change the engine oil..

bro, what kind of prob?
ur FC reading didn't improve after service? maybe drive for a few more days and see..

Yup..did feel a bit heavy after oil changed... but eventually my FC improved! Here are of my best records after 1st service:
1) 1++km/h @ DUKE highway (line clear) = 6.2L/100km
2) 60km/h @ Federal highway (line clear) = 5.5L/100km
3) Daily to & fro office between 8-10L/100km

Recommended tyre pressure is 220kpa front and back. If really want a more quite ride, do 200kpa Front and Back, this will bring down the noise and ride is not that firm. Cabin noise also depends on the road that you are driving on.

When I took my ride, the tyre pressure is 300 - 330kpa (different tyre different kpa), road noise was obvious and ride is firm (bumpy). I adjust it to recommended 220kpn front and back, the road noise and ride tone down quite a lot.

So in your test drive maybe you want to be more 'adventures' go to petrol station and try different pressure. And make sure it is at least at recommended kpa, I won't be surprise that some test drive car, the tyre pressure is way above 220kpa or 300kpa!
*
200kpa? will that spoilt the tyres? hmm.gif

nope, that 'line" is on the front windscreen (annoying my vision actually).
i tried removed it but can not, so it may be a scratch. but then it was gone after glow session.

I read a post in FB, saying that we need to ask for the photostat copy of our car AP when collecting our car.
Is that true? If I just keep quiet, will the SA give me the AP of my car ? or.. do I need to ask for it?
Why do we need to keep a copy of AP?  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif

Added on December 25, 2009, 6:57 pmCurrent Forte owners,

Do u hold the photocopy of your car AP?
*
Yes, u need to have the AP cos ur Forte is a 'kereta import baru' as stated on JPJ geran.
If u plan to sale/trade in a 'kereta import baru' in future, u have to produce the AP.

Added on December 26, 2009, 12:46 amA trip on East Coast Expressway:
237.5km used up 16.71L.
So, FC is 14.21km/L (or 7.03L/100km) by manual calculation. thumbup.gif

Added on December 26, 2009, 9:45 am1. AP docs are required if you need to sell/trade in a "kereta import baru". These docs are:
(a) Declaration of Goods Imported ;
(b) Application for Import Licence (JK69)

2. You can request for a copy of these from your SA, since your Forte is a "kereta import baru". Original copies are with JPJ

Are we suppose to get the original copy for these docs? or photocopy will be fine?
*
They will only have the photocopies for car buyers' safekeeping, because the original copies should be with the authorities (JPJ or Custom, not too sure)...

Hi guys I love this car !!!! I gotta feeling this car is goonna be a good car 2x, This cars gonnna be a good good car wohooooooo  rclxm9.gif
But I got four questions to ask the experts  icon_question.gif

1. Hows the fuel consumption for this car ??/ Issit similar to the kia spectra ?? rclxub.gif
2. After the 2 years/100000km warranty is over? anywhere good to send the car for repairs ? Because a lot of workshops don't like to repair KIA cars ( apparently the engine is too big and there are a lot of electronics involved)
3. How expensive is the spare parts compared to Toyota/Honda rclxub.gif
4. Are there companies out there who make clone spare parts for this model (cheaper since NAZA mark up all part price)  thumbup.gif
*
1. We have posted some info on FB, MyForte: Forte Owner club. check out the discussion board there.
2. Correction - the warranty period is 2 years/ 20,000 km.
3. & 4. Forte still new here, we have not got much info on spare parts yet..

for top speed & rpm readings...

okey summary from my ride. test at east coast highway
100 ~ 110KM/H @ 3K RPM
130 ~ 140KM/H @ 3.5K RPM
150KM/H @ 4K RPM
160KM/H @ 4.2 ~ 4.3K RPM

don't dare to push the limit coz raining/speed trap/not enough straight line.
*
I was on East Coast Expressway for the last 2 days as well, but didnt track the top speed, focused much on FC.
When on highway, the 'problem' is really 'didnt realised it's already exceeding speed limit tongue.gif '
Manual calculation of FC is 7.0-8.0L/100km.
