my htpc is also my downloading rig, so its more or less 24/7 powered up.
Estimated cost to keep it up is Rm30 per month. I'm thinking of substituting to something else, 'cos TNB ain't never gonna reduce power tariff as long as I'm a male...! I'm probably going to use a notebook / netbook as a semi portable media player (need to download via ftp / rapidshare also) but at the moment all the netbooks currently can't even do 720p....so its not yet viable. |

thats just based on 300W continuous consumption assumption...
My htpc is being enclosed tightly in the living room to prevent noise, so in return it gets warm and in return it generates more heat as well. not to forget i have a ATI 4850 under the hood |
