If you just have a calibration DVD then you can only do the basic brightness and contrast adjustment. Basically there will be some black & white test pattern shown on screen and you adjust the brightness and contrast until the desired test pattern is achieved (see your disc for instructions).For the more advanced adjustments, anfieldude has already mentioned that you need a meter.
