QUOTE(echoesian @ Dec 15 2009, 12:53 PM) For Plasma it shd be done after about 200hrs. However, there is no harm in doing the basic brightness, contrast, sharpness and other basic stuff before. For LCD, I think after 50hrs shd be ok, just give time for the panel to run in a little. You cannot do gamma, colour or greyscale without a proper meter. A basic meter would be a colorimeter. A spectrophotoradiometer is a tool used by pros. Of the test discs to do basic adjustments, I prefer Spears and Munsil. |

QUOTE(echoesian @ Dec 22 2009, 05:54 PM) If you just have a calibration DVD then you can only do the basic brightness and contrast adjustment. Basically there will be some black & white test pattern shown on screen and you adjust the brightness and contrast until the desired test pattern is achieved (see your disc for instructions). For the more advanced adjustments, anfieldude has already mentioned that you need a meter. |
