Although I frequently backs Rafa, I do think that we need a change in tactic.I'm not backing for a new manager who might bring in unknown factors that either drop the club to worse position or to bring them up but if someone is there to be replaced Rafa, I would hope to see someone with GUTS.

Given a certain Mourinho, if his team is trailing with 1 goal in the last 15minutes, he would throw in another striker, leaving only 3 defenders back there...We need this kind of take-the-risk mentality.
*
1 striker? No, if it was Mourinho, he'd throw in 10 strikers, and leave the keeper alone behind. Rafa on the other hand substitutes defenders for other defenders when we're trailing. Awesome ain't it?

That is true about Mourinho. Even with Inter he does it and sometimes it pays off well for us. Thing is, i dont think we can afford his services. sweat.gif

All these shouting for new manager, what we need now is a motivator. Some chewing gum machine used the same formation days in days out , still winning matches. It's all about Morale and motivation at the end of the day.
*
what we need is a motivator ? wtf ! wearing the red shirt of the merseyside isnt a big motivator ? gunning for the title that has been away from our hands for 20 years is not enough help ? since that is out of the question, then the champions league spot ?
victory against manu should have boosted our morale n many thought thats the start of a red revival. and right now, we are still the same : lack of creativity n ideas on pitch, begovic only had like 2/3 saves to make and about 5 chances that MIGHT worry him (includes shot on goal) torres didnt even had a shot on target. what does this means ? aquilani has been fit for over a month, where is he ? gerrard is way off form. starting dossenna puzzles me n no matter how manyof u adore insua or thinks he is good player. he is NOT. he just have the POTENTIAL there. he is some way off from a good left back. i think even arsenal's 3rd choice left back traore is better than him.

this is the 1st time i've never watch a full match. be it on the losing side or winning, i used to stick to the tv till the final whistle. this time i had enuf. nearly 15years in support of the reds, i am very disappointed with the team. cry.gif

n to all of u that had doubtswhether glenny is a good defender, he is just average. n for the money wepaid for him, i will say that we paid about 10mil overpriced. i hope he proves me wrong. n looking at agger making 2 very poor headers in his own penalty box, the problems we have is huge. n in this form anyone playing against us home or away will fancy their chances. heck, i can even see ourselves losing against unirea in the europa league.

goodluck reds.

And our players need to have more urgency in them.. I used to think that Ngog alone needed to learn to play faster, but now, Kuyt, Lucas, Johnson, Insua, and *Dossena* should join him.

They reacted WAY slower than the Portsmouth players.

first of all, dossena isn't suck, but playing him a winger (or even worse, if he's required to do what kuyt is doing) is a bad move. i would be more relieved if he was to be substituted into the game about 60 minutes.

and stop blaming owners for our loss in this game, portsmouth is laughing at us.

Worst game EVER!!!.. And Torres tonight hesitate to shoot doh.gif doh.gif But all in all, our team play damn poorly..

But I think its more down to Rafa's tactic rather than player's mistake... But still we played very poorly... now what?

yup.. the whole team played badly, but one shot doesn't cover up all the miss-pass that he did.. anyway, glenn johnson played badly too.. missed possession too much and mascherano got the red card.. Not sure he deserved the red card but it indeed a foul.. and what's wrong with our defenders? Clearly zonal marking is not effective at all mad.gif

come Jose....i know your ego...you have enough $$ already....come and manage us for a minimal fee....

.deep in your heart, you would love to come back to England, manage one of the greatest club in history, and lead them back into their glorious years..
you experienced our European nights before....you would love it if the fans were cheering you and the team you put out...
Come on..imagine the adrenaline of leading Liverpool to meet Fergie, Arsene...and yes........Lampard/Terry again......

Come Jose....although some think you're an arrogant prick..but i think my club needs that arrogance....my club needs to walk to the field, and fear no one anymore....Inject that pride in wearing the hallow red jersey once again.....

Bring us back the winning mentality Jose!! Breathe new life into players like Babel....And show us if players like Lucas, Kuyt, Ngog are really EPL winner material, or merely useful pawn in a tactical chess game...I am tired of tactics, tactic, tactic. Come Jose..turn Gerrard into winners, put proper players in their position......put in a true mixture of guile, pace, reliability and ethics into this team....

agreed with you on this. But after these few weeks I think it is time to Rafa to step down. I said this not bcoz of the tactic he makes, but bcoz he really lack of man management skills. Look at our squad for the past few weeks, there seems no spirit at all, no confidence, always hesitate and no sense of urgency from the squad even after trailing by goal down not like last season where we could easily be crown King of Comeback.
Gerrard also has lost his magical touch and from my observations the only player that always give a 100% commitment from the start of the season is Carragher. Although he sometimes makes mistakes but you can see an aura/ spirit from him.
