i don't think it really make much difference if you buy now or later bcos the amount of purchase we are going to make is minimal and it's physical silver, unless your are into margin/futures/etc trading, yes you indeed need to look into all the technical stuffs.

look at gold price now. when i first get involved it was 3 years ago and the price was 2 digits. now i'm still buying whenever i have the money and the price now is 3 digits.

it really doesn't matter if you buy now and it drops bcos you already know that silver price is still undervalued, isn't that why you are into it?

if your projection is long term, then just buy and keep quiet for few years. keep stacking when the price is low. if suddenly the price goes up, i'll bet you'll regret when you did not buy when it's low. Good example again, look at gold and pls don't tell me gold and silver are 2 different things.

the question now is do i need to wait? when is the best time to buy? honestly no one knows.

apply the KISS principle. know what you really want. then go for it.

Since there are people here (including me) who are buying silver coins/bars for whatever reason, why not help each other out. Post the latest/cheapest price one can buy and where to get them. Just the price and place to get should suffice. Of course no self-promotion. By doing this it will help everyone to cut short the process of searching for the right price and place.

Well, this is just a suggestion...

Kitco is currently having promotion for 1oz maple 2011. If you're buying bulk can consider getting them in kitco

buying coins overseas is not advisable bcos of tax unless you're lucky (how lucky are you?). if you buy in tubes chances of kene tax is very very high. buying locally is still the best choice. yes you need to pay a little extra (if you know where to find) but you won't have to experience sleepless nights. i'm just saying.....

stackers selling scottsdales bars at $1450 for 1oz X 10. maybe if 20 pieces can get cheaper. i think your can mix & match the 10 pieces with few brands, sunshine, silvertowne, scottsdale and morgan.

good bargain if you are into "collecting silver".

anyway if that's your question, then i believe it's up to the moderator/s. i've raised this issue much earlier but no one seems to care. moreover it's a free country, is it? hmm.gif

P.S. some people have thick skin and will never listen no matter what you say or do whistling.gif

what about public silver bars?
What you think about them?
Not attractive enough? haha smile.gif
*
in my humble opinion ( remember opinion only) public gold and silver are "useless". Not in the sense of the value, yes of course they have value. as matter of fact their prices are expensive to buy.

The company's agents are very manupilative. Just to earn a quick comission they'll sell you the dream of making lots of money but at the end their clients are losing money cry.gif They "forced" you to become a member so that you can buy cheaper, so they say.

I don't care what prove they put on the table. as far as i'm concern they're unethical. they are playing with people's life saving.

stay away if you can and remember again, it's just a matter of MY perspective. cool2.gif

P.S. if you really want to buy bars go for engelhard and johnson matthey. i guarantee you can sleep peacefully

Hi lustman, even if you have the dough, you need also the lobang. Do you mind to share where can someone buy silver coins in bulk at a good price (I presume as close to the spot price as possible). I am not sure whether it's really feasible to buy from Malaysia dealers as their prices are usually already marked up 30-50% from the spot price. Reselling from those prices are definitely not worth it (unless perhaps you hold them for another 2-3 years before selling). Do share your experience, lustman.
*
first of all i'm no agent/dealer. i buy for long term (many reasons).

before start any business one should first identify the objective/purpose of the business, in this case, a silver dealer.

second, must always remember, the margin for selling gold and silver is very low 1%-2%, e.g. $5000 = $50 profit. you may not see the profit bcos you need to buy back at higher price when replenish your stock. this is where many dealers stuck when the spot was almost $50.

if you accept this then you can consider.

malaysia dealers selling high bcos the price covers shipping and tax but still can sell back to the public. i think it's feasible for coins. if bars i heard now many people are bringing in bars bcos it's tax-free. honestly i don't "play" with bars unless it's for personal collection (again many reasons).

some people selling silver just for fun - seliing loose unless it's 10oz per piece and above. some serious by selling in tubes and this is what you should do.

i was told by someone before become a dealer collect your first 100oz and that's what i'm doing right now. when i'm done i may consider but off course have to see how much dough i have doh.gif

you can also check with some local gold and silver companies (without naming names) that offering so-called entreprenuers to participate with them. to me (personal opinion) they're all very BIG B.S. whistling.gif

anyways i've shared a few small dealers (check earlier posts) if you want to buy. get them in tubes bcos it's cheaper (per piece) like eagles, maples and philis.

maybe you can also buy those odd ones (expensive) for collection like panda, koala, kookabura, etc

remember here i'm talking abt silver coins and have no idea abt bars

last but not least goldchan can give a clearer picture of becoming a reseller as he's been doing this for a few years now. read his blog http://silvermalaysia.blogspot.com

Hi Beginner2011, And ALL silver and gold buyer/seller

Great post!! Should have seen this and save me hours of finding local site for selling gold and silver. I'm also a beginner here and would like to start. But I guess I'm a long term investor, not collector.

How about besides sharing where to buy and what to buy, is there a site here we can team up and start offering to each other authentic gold or silver? I read some of you have hard time selling off kilobars of silver for example. I am looking to buy 1. Or some may be having a hard time selling some of their collection but it takes lots of time to browse thru all the postings.

Is there such a site for people like us to trade with one another without using the spread? For example Silver selling at RM 140 per Oz and buying at 120 per Oz, we can deal at RM 130 per Oz and we both walk off a winner!!

Do PM me if this site exist here or anywhere, if not, can we start it somewhere? a thread just for us helping each other to buy and sell without going thru middle man? But all receipt or packaging must be authentic.

Just a suggestion from a newbie.

bartering precious metal with another is not practical at all.

but buying good using precious metal as currency yes people are doing it already.

in malaysia dinars and dirhams are already in action in kelantan and selangor. a few FB groups are doing it too.

when buying gold and silver, it is meant for you to keep as long as you don't need the money. that's why never use daily, monthly or yearly expenses to buy. not even emergency money.

why is it hard to sell off bcos you bought the "WRONG" silver but if you're willing to sell below selling price i'm confident people are willing to take it from you instantly.

Hi guys,

my fren introduce to me this company, arumainternational, they selling gold and silver. can they be trusted? i mean the gold n silver sell by them is d real deal?

or where can i buy gold and silver d most secured way? and not expensive as jewellery shop or bank
*
you CANNOT have the best of both worlds.

my advice, always i mean always stay away from anything you're not sure of and there are many other options, trust me, they are.

read back the old posts and you'll find treasure of infos for you to make an educational decision.

anyways, the safest bet to buy gold bullion is from banks. UOB selling the cheapest physical gold (as far as i know) and lowest spread.

if you're worry about keeping it at home, then open the bank gold account.

that's it, simple as ABC and definitely a no brainer.

and this is my advice only and you DON'T have to listen to me. icon_rolleyes.gif

1 dirham = 2.975 gram fine .999 silver

current price is RM25

dirham is used as currency to buy goods. totally cannot compare with 1oz silver coin. other reason is related to islam.

lustman,

until kelantan able to fix goods priced to dirham (rather than converting the value of dirham) , subsituting dinar n dirham over fiat money would not be as successful as expected. people are not treating dinars as commodity nowadays  doh.gif

the only thing i know that is fixed is a goat is 1 dinar (917 4.25gm gold) 1400yrs ago until today, and some goat farm accept dinar.
*
like i said, it's related to islam and not only about buying goods, etc, so i wouldn't go there.

if anyone's interested just buy a set and keep as collection

I agree with you, but I'm interesting other opinions and it's explanations. Did you do any recesrcher about silver investments?
*
FYI. buying physical silver in malaysia is not "investment". the term has been manupilated heavily by unscroupulous silver/gold agents to brainwash the general public into buying their products.

so, what is it then? it depends why you want to buy silver at the first. many reasons for many people.

the good news is buying silver is a no brainer, so no deep research need to be done. the only thing you need to know is where to buy so you won't get conned. brows.gif

Hopefully you can give me an opportunity to serve you.

my advice, if you want to promote your coins or anything else, you need to build trust and relationship. people will always ask, why should i buy from you? who are you? will you con me? etc.

"people will not care about you until you care about them first" - ( i know this is not the correct quote bcos i forgot but almost )

once people are comfortable around you, they'll be anything even you sell air to them.
