I also bought mine Qosmio f60-BD531 on 3rd of April. Just joint lowyat net. Rather late, should joint before i bought my laptop.
Mine come with 500gb external hdd (given Buffalo brand due to lack of stock),a sling bag and I exchange free gifts for antivirus (given trend micro internet security for 3 pc but 2008 version). RM4799.
How about yours? What you get? Including sling bag?

i should had tried to bargain when buying this laptop. thought it's fixed price maybe.
Eguy, i also experience some weird sound somtimes when playing songs.
I'm using 64 bit window 7. the only way i know to switch from 32bit to 64bit win 7 is by HDD recovery. which mean formating i guess. (pressing "0" while switching on)

pf t.j., the link for toshiba Nvidia Geforce GT330m driver update shows me "Sorry, system encounter some problem during processing your request!
Error : "

Bought mine F60 at Sungai petani pc fair. Still sealed in box when i took it home.

Added on May 14, 2010, 1:10 pmSo far i had finished played Avatar the game, Prototype, and The Last Remnant on my Qosmio F60. Still ok. Can play high detail, but not max everything for Avatar the game and The last Remnant. Prototype can hang, don't know due to bug or limited hardware. Currently playing Risen and Just Cause 2.

Ya, he is really one lucky guy~ He got the best offer among all of us T________T
O___O I downloaded from the link wo.... I try putting it here again: http://toshiba-asia.com/portal/public/sear...rentTab=service
Perhaps cannot directly place the link there. If that's the case, just go to Toshiba Asia website>bulletins & drivers> select your notebook model>W7> Display

I managed to download but cannot update... The installation program says that the OS must be 32-bit Windows 7 (I'm using 32-bit... redundant)  doh.gif
Perhaps you can try it out and help us out? I'm not really good at these kind of stuffs haha  laugh.gif

Played Batman Arkham Asylum, NFS Shift, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, C & C Tiberium twillight and currently RE5... So far so good~

nope havent.. the link above .. cant load. dont know why also.
any1 has great idea on how to play smooth rmvb files?
i tried installing real player, by using real player i see the vid quality not very nice. but when used on windows media player its much clearer but no sound. after install real alternative along, the windows media player vid quality same like real player xcep got sound sleep.gif
*
Not sure about your problem but I'm using real alternative 202.
Just checked the quality of window media player vs Real alternative. Both got sound but yes, window media player play my Transformer RMVB file better. The colour more vibrian, more contras or something. I'm thinking maybe because it had being enhanced by using Nvidia control panel for video playback but only for window media player, not real alternative. Just what I think though.

Just_kiing, you also experience the weird sound right? What do you was the problem from? Anyway, you ask the shopkeeper to installed 64 bits for you?

Eguy1314, check this site about Toshiba Qosmio F60 sound skipping problem. I never tried it though.
http://blog.slackware.com.au/2010/05/02/to...ipping-problem/

Nope, after I open box myself, the first start up of my Qosmio F60 lead me to choose between 32/64 bit Window 7. I chose 64bit but partition my harddisk wrongly until it only got <60 gb if not mistaken, then I did a system restore by switching on my laptop while pressing number 0. The same happen, it will ask you to choose 32/64bit window 7 and to set the size of your harddisk. Just follow on screen instructions.

To WjLye,
Nvidia GT 330m old already e,
Nvidia GT 4xxm already available, think twice.
The frame of the screen kind of scratch, maybe when the screen is closed la. Are u considering LED backlit key board? Full HD screen? The blueray burner kind of waste for me. Never use till now, only dvd.

QUOTE(WjLye @ Oct 5 2010, 06:42 AM)
I have a few questions here.

First of all, while i was setting up the new Qosmio F60-S531, i got to choose the windows version and i chose 64 bit. And when the recovery process from Toshiba software is done, it enters the windows and says preparing for the first time usage. And then when it enters the windows, before i can even do anything, it just start a windows that says it's configuring system and then after that reboot. Enter windows again and start configuring again and reboot again. And this loop seems like goes on forever. I think it happened at least 7 times until i shutdown the laptop. Is it the normal procedure ? Should i just let it configure and reboot as many times as it wants ? What if the loops goes on forever ?

Well, my case is kinda special cause i notice a DEAD PIXEL on the brand new machine. I did the setting up of  the laptop on the spot in the shop by myself cause i have actually known the shop owner for quite sometime. When it was running the Toshiba recovery software there's no DEAD PIXEL and when it started the windows then suddenly i notice the DEAD PIXEL on the LCD. -.=" It sucks big time when the new machine i have anticipated for so long are faulty T.T
Anyone experienced this problem ?

But the shop owner says that she'll send it back to her supplier and see what can be done. I am expecting a brand new machine but not just a fix as i didnt even accepted the machine as a customer.

Disappointed, not in Toshiba, but the fact that i couldnt bring it home yesterday. Arrggghhhh !!!!!
*
That is normal. Let it restart as many time as it need. I think it is something like for every software you install, you need to restart your computer so that it function properly or whatever la. It takes long time, I not sure how long but hours maybe. (late reply)

The "transformer" sound a, I also experienced that before but recently didn't notice le, maybe less listening to music? During gaming I think no transformer sound. I also got use 100% volume sometime but no problem le. I mean no burst le. Well, no guaranty.
