Actually what has the tuner on the TV got to with its HDMI inputs, the tuner is a separate item altogether... Anyway, we're on PAL B/G, B for VHF band, G for UHF band, both B and G go together.

For HDMI, there's no PAL B/D/G/H/I/M, just PAL if 576i, and maybe 576p. Note that some TVs (like my Samsung LA40A650) cannot accept PAL 576i and NTSC 480i over HDMI, it will only do 576p and 480p onwards.

What TV tuner card are you using that has HDMI input...

Does your TV Tuner support HDCP , if not. You may have problems such as jerking , poor quality of recording and other stuff

change ure decoder settings to output 1080i? lol since u quoted this:

*The 1080i will only function when the signal source comes from 1080i format.
maybe ure decoder output mode in 720p

is this what you got?

Do you have the latest firmware for that card? It may improve on your recording quality. Don't have any HD tuner card here myself so I can't tell you if it'll work.

As far as recognizing 720p only, the reason may be that the B.yond decoder encodes 1080i with HDCP but not with the 720p signal. I assume you're recording the HD channels in MPEG-2 since that is what the card is capable of doing. 720p MPEG-2 on the fly may be too much for the card.

Yesterday my signal was ok in fairly heavy rain! Maybe the dish alignment is at fault. My decoder shows signal strength of 255 (I think it's max).

got my b.yond ytday evening. Here are my problem:

1. Card not activated until today's evening... Called astro twice before at last got my card activated...
2. Only got 3 channel..  Didnt get Supersport HD altho i have sport package.  Called them regarding this,awaiting their response.
3. No output from HDMI, can only output from AV. I tried reset the set top box several time,but after the initial setting the hdmi output when blank. I see in system info the Hdmi status if OFF.
4. No sound whatsoever. Either 5.1 or stereo, both no sound output at all.

Please help~ anybody~ I want to njoy my HD too i hope anyone can help at least with problem no. 3 & 4, cos no. 2 for sure astro problem. Tx.

Issue resolved. Just need to update the FW via OTA update. I'm good to go. No more sound issues.

Can the current coax between the dish and decoder be reused?

can HDMI and component output together simultaneously?
can HDMI and composite output together as well?

I heard that this Astro decorder does not support RF port..meaning I cannot hook up to my 2nd LCD TV kah?>? Like that this is bad man...How am I gonna watch Astro downstair & upstair 

Or any solution to split HDMI to another LCD/Plasma?

BTW, mine will be fixed soon..Installer called Y'day. Registered last Monday nia..
