Sorry, i'm not using TV set...i'm playing on my PC using PC TV Tuner ..managed to get the pictures using 720P, no display when using 1080i, can record HD channel, but the video jerking..still playing around, but should not be possible with HDCP , just wondering why cannot display 1080i, limitation or my tv tuner card or monitor ? which both also suppose can support this resolution QUOTE(LCP @ Dec 26 2009, 01:43 PM) Actually what has the tuner on the TV got to with its HDMI inputs, the tuner is a separate item altogether... Anyway, we're on PAL B/G, B for VHF band, G for UHF band, both B and G go together. For HDMI, there's no PAL B/D/G/H/I/M, just PAL if 576i, and maybe 576p. Note that some TVs (like my Samsung LA40A650) cannot accept PAL 576i and NTSC 480i over HDMI, it will only do 576p and 480p onwards. This post has been edited by rayfoo: Dec 26 2009, 01:48 PM

well according to specs, the card does support HDMI/HDCP up to 1080i..will email their tech support ...going to rain soon..good can test whether signal interrupted or not QUOTE(writesimply @ Dec 26 2009, 02:56 PM) Do you have the latest firmware for that card? It may improve on your recording quality. Don't have any HD tuner card here myself so I can't tell you if it'll work. As far as recognizing 720p only, the reason may be that the B.yond decoder encodes 1080i with HDCP but not with the 720p signal. I assume you're recording the HD channels in MPEG-2 since that is what the card is capable of doing. 720p MPEG-2 on the fly may be too much for the card. fuad
