Kaka ahead of Iniesta is stupid. Kaka basically did feck all during the whole year, this season and last while Iniesta was an integral figure in Barca's success.

like Messi, he developed a really beautiful record. I thought Xavi was better compared to messi, but messi was already favourited..

Lots of players there on name and reputation alone. Well done to Messi though. No one was even close to challenging him as the best player last season. His international form leaves a lot to be desired though.

One could argue Iniesta was a better player last season. He was more consistent and when he was missing in the side Barca seemed a whole level lower compared to if Messi wasn't there. But Messi is definitely flashier and more talented which is why he won.

Maradona and di Stefano probably would have won it if the award was around during their days.

edit
not sure if di Stefano can be classified as Argentinian tho, coz later he defected to Spain, and played mostly for Spain
