yup..my advice is to learn photoshop to do desktop customization.
skins, icon, wallpaper etc etc are all depends on creativity using photoshop.. =p
and if u ask mr. google, he has lots of tutorial for u to grab..

just open the preference tab.. got the option there

dont have wor .. i just download and click the .exe file to use .. the setting dont have STARTUP on window ... i need click the .exe files everytime i restart pc.. anyone can help ?

create a shortcut of RKLauncher.exe and put it in your Startup folder.

where to find the startup folder ?

C:\Documents and Settings\your account\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

which means that you didnt install your rk launcher?

its not installer file ... i just unzip and use it ..

hmm.. thats why.. becoz since you didnt install it.. so its not in the registry of your comouter system.. so the automatic start up option is unclickable.. hehe.. i think so.. =P

Need an advice here. Does using Visual Styles, Samurize configs, Findexer, RK Launcher or everything that has anything to do with desktop modding can effect system in some way? or effect on registry or something, you know because of some of the programs change registry rite? because recently my system got something wrong. I don't know if it have anything to do with this modding thing or simply because viruses because I scan using AVG say no virus in my pc.

And one more thing, between visual styles and Windows Blind, which is much better?

actually modding your desktop is at your own risk.. not to its not good lah.. cause sometimes we may make mistake and cause the error.. so i cant really tell will effect your system or not..

yes. mods that involve registry hacks will definitely affect your registry. what's wrong with your system?



IMO, Windowblinds skin is an enhanced version of visual styles, with transparency support, drop shadows etc.
go for visual styles if you prefer minimal look. or windowblinds if you like bling-blings on your desktop.
i personally go for windowblinds.

I don't really know what's the real problem is. It only happen recently, never happen before. You see, my internet connection is based on WiFi wireless provided in my university. Then suddenly it stated Limited Wireless Connection and I can't connect the internet. Even tried repair the connection and unplug the wireless device not helping. So, first I uninstall my wireless device the reinstall the driver. Secondly, I scan with Registry Booster and it fixed all the bugs. And my problem is solved. So, i don't know if it has something to do with registry or because of the wireless driver but I suspect it has something to do with svchost.exe. Don't really know what it is though. Right now just using Windows Classic style with no added VS,Samurize, RK Launcher whatsoever. Still afraid to use it until I know the real problem. Haha, kinda long unrelated explanation. Do you get it?

And about the VS and WB, what about system related info, like memory, processor, registry. Which one is more optimize. Read it somewhere that even WB use less memory than VS. Is it true? I need full knowledge about this kind of thing before using it again.

why don't you try to use WinSockXP Fix? i've used it before to repair my connection. but try it at your own risk.

hurm..yeah desktop modding sometimes can results in performance drawback..
rules of thumb: always know what u've modded, u've changed and optimize ur mod..

i always avoid using transformation pack like VTP, yeah i've used it before and i'm not satisfied at all..gave me headache with some annoying effect and changes that lower my pc performance.. besides now i think vista theme is not that pretty

and for samurize, i only make config for shortcut (as i hate shortcut icons on desktop and for my convenient) and also little bit media player info..that's all.. and set those config to use as low resource as possible, the view refresh and so on, as u dont need to refresh ur shortcut frequently, it's always the same anyway...
system monitoring config use lots of resource i think.. hehe, i tried before and sometimes caused my pc so lagging as u've to constantly refresh view to get updated graph etc etc..
