hey guys, once my phone rooted, i cant reverse the process rite?
*
If you fine with rooting, as the process isn't that easy. As mention before, it is possible to unroot it back. The question is, is it possible to trace wheter the phone has been rooted before? If yes, then warranty as good as void rclxub.gif

But if you're going to root it, better just buy the AP set.

Android phones released this year will get the update. I really hope HTC will not delay it. With the large amnt of users in the Europe region I'm sure that they will make a big fuss over it. I hope its not ROM base but have a feeling it might. Maybe unlocked and generic versions will get it first? I'm on unlocked Europe ROM. Hoping that it'll be release in July! N1 users will get it in June I think.

w00t! This is great for HTC Desire buyer. If Froyo arrives, one less reason to root and void your warranty, especially if the warranty is more that 1 year. (Of course, for the advenerous, they can always unroot it back)

*edit* Found an article that we will be seeing 5x faster performance on Froyo! Pair that with Snapdragon! drool.gif

Bad News....
27/05/2010 launching only for Maxis Package, orther dealer need wait until
27/06/2010 only can sell....
*
They better let us buy it without contract and not higher than Rm2199. This is giving Maxis chances to screw people like me, who doesn't use their high-end rate plan. vmad.gif

And today, i'm angry at Maxis as 3G doesn't seem to work for me; I can't seem to connect to the network mad.gif

Another BAD NEWS for u guy..
the SIS manager said the fon is now shipping on the way only..
THEY NOT YET DECIDE the date & price lah...
NEXT WEEK Meeting only decide...
HE said the 2199 is the PRICE WITH THE PLAN..
ONLY will let MAXIS or DIGI sell it.. sweat.gif
*
Way to crush out my hopes and dreams. HTC Desire, one of the best smarphones to grace Bolahland, is now dancing towards Maxis' evil tunes vmad.gif

I'll give them one chance by waiting just what kind of plan they will becoming out with, and what is the RRP. I was hoping that price difference with SG set isn't so high...

WT???    vmad.gif
just because desire is high anticipated devices they want to do this to their potential customers? i guess those AP sets' selling price will be higher...and certainly getting from SG seem a pretty good alternative too with SGD898...RM2199 selling price with plan  doh.gif

SGD 898*2.4 = 2155.2  shakehead.gif
*unless SGD898 is the selling price for telcos in SG....
*
Can anyone confirm wheter SGD898 is without or with contract from telcos? hmm.gif

anyone pre-ordered their htc desire ori set lately?

which shop u guys pre-ordered from?

do they confirm with u guys the date its gonna be available?
*
Didn't someone mentioned that ori will only be sold by telcos? Shop will only carry it after 1 months me think...

So for those who wants it fast, AP is the way to go nod.gif

so, how how how??? will they test froyo on sense ui??? How much is the internal memory?? is it enough for me to install apps??
*
What apps are you planning to install anyway? Most apps are small in size, but I'm sure the Desire can fit a few games inside.

4 more days (including today) to go. You guys think that the phone will be available at all Maxis Centre? Later if the phone release on that that day, not enough stock, I'll be very dissapointed... sad.gif

Why they are not having pre order now?
Or on 27th only launching the pre order?
Don't think will be available on the spot tho.
*
Yeah, another question that hasn't been answered yet; will it be available for purchase on the spot this coming Thursday?

Maxis better not abuse their rights to sell HTC Desire exclusively for 1 month. Else I just go AP and convert myself to the smarter choice vmad.gif

QUOTE(linkz @ May 24 2010, 05:38 PM)
since it is so exclusive, maybe it's only available to the exclusively selected fews....
*
If thats true then you really have to wonder just what the heck is going on with Maxis, choosing who should be their customers... rclxub.gif

since the fon can syn with gmail's contacts, can the calander and ToDos be syn as well?

I'm no Android user (not yet anyway), but I think you will need third-party apps for Google Task. Maybe Calendar too?

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 26 2010, 12:44 PM)
HTC product launch events in Msia are never widely publicized. It is often restricted to selected parties only. I have read somewhere in this forum last year, Msian launches are subdued due to budget and costs. That is one of the main reasons most layman do not know who or what is HTC ?? Only guys/gals like us who are freaks on smartphones will know.

Compare this to  the Spore launch of the Desire - it was widely promoted at Spore SimLim/Funan ( these are Spore most popular PDA/Computer centres like LowYat Plaza)  and at some local pda websites. It was open to the public - I registered and attended and it was literally jam packed . Best attraction was : more than 20 units available to the public to test with many htc staffs attending to all your queries. I reported this event at my blog : http://bennyleemn.blogspot.com/2010/05/htc...-singapore.html
*
How sad. Is it either due to low popularity in Malaysia? But if you don't promote the HTC brand, people won't know sad.gif

Or maybe Malaysia is not high in their priority... cry.gif

of course they did not want to share the pricing etc with me... tongue.gif

I have Maxis 3Gb plan. Unfortunately I had to pair it with their cheapest postpaid plan, which is underutilized by me cry.gif

Will Maxis come out with a special plan for HTC Desire? Cause when they started offering Android phones, there was no new rate plan; just combine the current plan the have (Starting from RM50...). sad.gif

Why didn't HTC partner with DiGi instead...?

Wait tomorrow-lah. If the plan are god-awful, I'll just go get AP. Hopefully the price will be lowered when the RRP is annouced,

We're almost in the same boat bro. I use WiFi at home and 3G whenever i can't find free WiFi. Too bad Maxis doesnt have the 'Data First, Postpaid Second' plan like DiGi...
