lol same with Desire launching at Australia only for 1 telco within certain period.

Maxis i hope you get more subscriber
*
ya..Telstra in Australia for 6 months!! mad.gif
hope Vodafone will bring N1 next month

QUOTE(reiki_longtime @ May 21 2010, 03:41 PM)
They better let us buy it without contract and not higher than Rm2199. This is giving Maxis chances to screw people like me, who doesn't use their high-end rate plan.  vmad.gif

And today, i'm angry at Maxis as 3G doesn't seem to work for me; I can't seem to connect to the network  mad.gif

QUOTE(r47z @ May 21 2010, 03:56 PM)
that sucks man, only to maxis for one month. other's have to wait. but they should also have the optino to the phone outright without any contract?
*
im pretty sure maxis will offer outright too..

QUOTE(KayK @ May 21 2010, 03:57 PM)
so does this mean that non-contract phones can only be purchased after 1 month? is there any chances to purchase without contract in the first month?
if so, i'm sad to say that i wont be getting the hTC desire then...by the time hTC desire is available for the mass, other newer android devices will be available..namely galaxy S...

since when android phone has to become like iphone where you need to it from telcos?  sad.gif
*
sadly,i nvr trust Samsung in term of mobile...even they have nice spec but still a no-no for me...

iphone can be bought from apple store in certain country too tongue.gif

confirm SGD898 is without contract, but with free 1 original battery and pouch.  laugh.gif

RM2,199 with contract is total rip off.  Maybe I can organise a mass order to buy from Spore to earn some pocket money.  tongue.gif

RM2199 with contract?lol..this is madness
but i believe it will be lower than that if with contract

btw here is some FAQ for froyo

You gotta read the manual and check with the seller (and the place you're planning to claim the warranty from). What's the point of international warranty then otherwise companies like Dell will get their rear ends shot if they can't substantiate their claims.
*
from what i heard and also reply from HTC in certain country(eg HTC Australia),many people buy HTC Desire from UK(clove, handtec, etc) and stated international warranty but when they contact HTC Australia regarding international warranty, HTC will not provide warranty that the device import from other countries. User need to send back the device to the place that they bought for warranty..i guess this same to other countries

So they DID rolleyes.gif honor the warranty except that it's going to be a year short, correct?

I think as I mentioned, the HTC Warranty booklet provdes the relevant information. This would also mean that HTC Singapore only provides a 1-year warranty, therefore your set is subjected to the policies of the country of claim. However, the balance can be claimed in other countries which provide the full 2-year warranty or back to the country of purchase.

As I said previously, check with seller, the HTC center (in where you want to possibly claim from) and read the manual for heaven's sake. I don't think any of these would take up so much time until one starts to make 1001 assumptions on why they shouldn't buy products overseas.

Bro, about the multi-sim - is is also valid for data+voice plans? I wanted to know since I want to use my same line on my X1 and Desire?
*
ya booklet provides many information. so far from what i read from users information and also the quote of reply from HTC about warranty, international warranty does not work like dell's international warranty like you mentioned before..
clove at UK provides 2 year international warranty and user ask how the warranty works, they just said send back to them to claim warranty. then user ask htc that available in their country and htc said they do not cover ANY products that import from other countries..
that's what i know so far.
perhaps u can try blast an email to htc malaysia for more info?i think many ppl want to know about this too including me...

btw htcpedia from UK?

I think partly because of telstra.. If everyone buys from UK, then no one wants to buy their exp phones from telstra
*
ya maybe..many ppl choose telstra coz of warranty and also subsidized if contract..and also NextG network(3.5G)

Sets bought in Singapore would not have their warranty honored by SiS Malaysia.

Any problem, you'll have to send it back to Singapore.

There's no such thing as International warranty for phones.
*
thats what i thinking too..
the best way is to call up HTC at your country and ask about it..i think there is no use you ask HTC from the country that you bought

QUOTE(law_yew_wooi @ May 23 2010, 04:03 AM)
how much internal memory that htc desire has? if it is less than 1GB, is it not enough for us to download apps since those apps won't be installed into the external sd cards?? well, there is froyo which provides that function, but then, it will take a long time for us to update the fon with froyo. Plus, those who have updated said, it is not so compatible with sense ui. How?
*
it only has 512MB of ROM..but many people seems still got a bit space after they download the apps that useful and require low space
u need to wait HTC to release froyo update that includes sense UI which i believe will be 4-6months later

QUOTE(mikecmy @ May 23 2010, 05:44 AM)
hey guys, are you guys able to surf the web with ur GPRS/HSDPA? I seem like having a prob on going online for maxis. do i need settings or smething from maxis b4 i can start going online?
*
i think you need to set APN?

QUOTE(linkz @ May 23 2010, 08:44 AM)
Just wondering... since desire is so internet intensive, what are the chances that it can get virus attack? Do you need to install anti-virus in ur fon?
*
not sure but chances are minimal?
